The PS prepares for civil war

-On orders from the center, squads of violence are being created in the PS -Gramoz Ruçi activates the detachments of former Sigurimi agents EDI PALOKA The local leaders of the PS have not wasted any time after the deputy chairman Pellumbi’s call to “take to the streets.” The PS chairman for Saranda, Astrit Llanga, declares that he has prepared what he calls “special squads” which will “take physical care of the ballot boxes during the elections.” In fact, calls for the creation of these squads of violence had already been made earlier by G. Ruçi and N. Dokle, and Llanga confirms that these squads act on the basis of instructions from the center. Some time ago, another PS deputy chairman, Ilir Meta, declared that the PD could remain in power only after a civil war. This statement was added to the constant declarations by conservative PS leaders about skull-breaking and St. Bartholomew’s Night, declarations that culminated in the call by PS deputy chairman Pellumbi for militant PS supporters to take to the streets during elections and seize by force what they would not be able to win through the free vote. It is precisely this purpose that the creation of violence squads serves. The deputy chairman of the PS can come out to respond to the purpose of creating these squads by justifying them with the idea of protecting socialist votes from the authorities, but the PS leaders leave much more room for vote manipulation than “special squads” that do not move (either from the authorities or from the opposition), but near the center do not even allow propaganda to be openly displayed. Thus the placement of “special squads” at polling stations is completely illegal. It is understood that these squads will be made up of former Sigurimi agents, those who in ‘90 and ‘91, under Ruçi’s orders, roamed the roads of Albania to prevent the mass of Albanians from taking control of democracy. Ruçi, Pellumbi and Dokle, who drew up blacklists from the offices of the heavy apparatus very well, could not then stop the Albanians when they had in their hands the entire apparatus of violence; today they would not be able to and would not even dare to think of opposing the free will of free people. They hope that by carrying out their tension-building strategy, they can create incidents in order to consolidate clashes among Albanians all the way to civil war. Of course, such criminal aims, worthy of the former head of the Sigurimi and the fiercest defenders of Marxist crimes, class war and violent revolution, will receive the proper response not only from the rule-of-law state, but from all those Albanians who consider democracy a precious value. There are hundreds of thousands of Albanians who were bloodied while fighting against Ruçi’s special forces. There are hundreds of thousands who rose up never to return to the cells of the dictatorship. There are thousands of families who even today seek justice for their relatives who were killed at the border or on the streets of Albanian cities by Ruçi’s squads of that time; these people today quietly allow them to fire on that for which they fought. They wait peacefully for the day when, by their own free will, they will cast their free vote into the ballot boxes, for that for which they fought. These people have not forgotten how they won their peace and will by no means allow everything they achieved to be snatched away from them at the ballot boxes by Ruçi’s black squads.

Albania on the verge of association with the European Union

Declared Suzana Anjeli Albania is today closer than ever to the start of negotiations that will lead to the signing of an association agreement between it and the European Union. This was stated by Italian Foreign Minister Suzana Anjeli, current President of the Council of the European Union. Mrs. Anjeli chaired a session of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Public Order of the European Parliament in Brussels. When she also presented the work program of the Italian presidency, which heads the European Union during the second half of the year, speaking about the EU’s foreign policy, the Italian Foreign Minister stated, among other things: “There are some improvements in the Balkans; I would like to mention Albania. The Italian presidency is working so that negotiations for an association agreement between this country and the EU can begin as soon as possible. I mention here that just yesterday political talks were held in Rome with representatives of Albania, which also gave us the opportunity, among other things, to remind our interlocutors from Albania of the importance that the EU attaches to the continuation of the democratization process in Albania, in order to help improve relations with its neighboring countries and across the region.”

Serbian funding for "Koha Jonë"

-With Serbia’s money, the director of "KJ" lives in the Rogner hotel and is guarded by security It is again the press office "Petro Zannoni" that insists on yesterday’s news. According to it, the data were obtained from a former State Security employee from Gjirokastra who is now in Greece. Zannoni refuses to fully identify his source of information, but insists: “Koha Jonë is financed by Serbia.” In the other material sent again by fax to the editorial office of “RD”, the information explains the links between the former KGB and the Serbian secret police and the former Albanian secret police. -The aim of the former secret police is precisely to guarantee communist power against the democratic government... The Socialist parliamentary opposition in Albania is not a real opposition but something more, since it has at its disposal an organization like the former secret police... This organization is today financially and militarily dependent on the Serbian communists, who also finance the newspaper Koha Jonë. The Democratic Party wants independent newspapers, while calling “KJ” independent; the Sigurimi created a free zone through which it can exert invisible pressure on public opinion, apart from the guarantees it gives to Serbia to have its own newspaper in Albania... These are the accusations reiterated by Zannoni, which cannot be answered by the writer in the editorial office of “KJ”, who throws out some aggressive foreign advice; moreover, its editor-in-chief admits that they have received help without specifying the author. Perhaps it would be better that before attacking "RD", the editor-in-chief of "KJ" explained how a newspaper with 15,000 copies (not 25, as he claims) can pay over 150 employees and an average salary of 200,000 leks. He should explain where the thousands of dollars come from that the managers of "KJ" spend every month at the Rogner hotel, the most expensive in Albania, accompanied by guards. And finally, how is it possible that after all these huge expenses, the managers of “KJ” also finance two other newspapers that are published at a loss (not to mention the sponsorships made by this newspaper)? That would be the only way to refute the accusations made against it and the vulgar attacks against other press organs.

At the top of the Socialist Party candidate lists are Hoxha’s collaborators

Fatrih Sinani, former intimate secretary of Enver Hoxha, Vasillaq Kureta, personal assistant to Nexhmije Hoxha The former cabinet of Enver Hoxha has made it to the top of the Socialist Party’s candidate list for deputies. Fatrih Sinani, Enver Hoxha’s intimate secretary and Haki Kroi’s deputy in the dictator’s office, was the first candidacy to attack the head of this list, while the second name was Vasillaq Kureta, known as Nexhmije Hoxha’s right-hand man in the institution she headed. The return of these names to Albanian politics is a clear signal of the return of that time which Albanians buried four years ago. This is also the result of Ruçi’s technology for selecting Socialist candidates for deputies. Placing him at the head of the selection committee would undoubtedly bring the panorama of dictatorship, now dressed in the garb of a more democratic renewal, but with his secretary. This is also the condition that the communists impose on Nano and the others by handing them the party. They would never be where they are today, and they cannot act otherwise. Ultimately, the Socialist Party shows its irreversible ties with the Albanian communists, leaving no room for renewal under Ruçi’s leadership. Ruçi, in his list, has excluded all possible reform of this party, and this now-formed list is a completely sufficient justification for the protests of the base and especially of the leadership. The leadership of the deputies’ list by communists closest to dictator Hoxha definitively ruins their stories about renewal and breaking with the past. They have not rejected either the dictator or his crimes. The list of Socialist candidates is the greatest provocation to Albanian democracy, to those who suffered the dictatorship; it is the greatest deception the socialists are perpetrating on a not insignificant part of their electorate. While the hostile one takes the top of the list, it continues with other collaborators and persecutors of human freedom. This list would be worthy only of a communist parliament and by no means of Albanians who have just begun to enjoy freedom, for a country with democracy. This list of immorality is merely a continuation of the dictatorship that has remained with this party.

Albania toward European integration

From the activity of President of Hungary Gencz The President of Hungary visits the Albanian parliament From the activity of President of Hungary Gencz Albania toward European integration The President of Hungary visits the Albanian parliament Yesterday morning, the President of Hungary, Arpad Gencz, who, at the invitation of the President of the Republic, Sali Berisha, is on an official visit to Albania, spoke before Albanian parliamentarians; President Berisha was also present at yesterday’s parliamentary session. Inviting the Hungarian president to speak, the chairman of the presidium of the People’s Assembly, Pjetër Arbnori, praised President Gencz as the man who represents anti-communist resistance and as a humanist writer, who is so necessary to maintain balance in a post-communist Hungary where the silent, democratically changing past was the future. Hungary is the best proof that there is always room in democracy for educated people, Arbnori said, praising the developments in Hungary which, despite difficult conditions, is finding its way into the market economy. Arbnori expressed confidence that President Gencz’s arrival in Albania will help expand cooperation and strengthen relations between the two countries. Based on our talks so far, the Hungarian president Gencz said that this visit is a great mutual contribution to the development of Hungarian-Albanian relations. Mr. Gencz affirmed the friendly feelings that have existed between the two peoples, the common struggle against the invaders (Continues on page 3)
