Socialists in the street
Socialists
in the street
The socialists once again returned the people to the party of the tenth.
The Steering Committee described yesterday’s statement in a balancing
state of the Socialist Party. They are still not in the Albanian
people, and they are no longer only representatives of
inable to bear such ambitions, even when they are tormented by the
resentment of lacking power or by the certainty that they will not have it
again.
At least they should call themselves the mob of the people they may
have had, that is, say socialist people or communist groups
mainly embedded in the leadership of their party.
The electoral law presented by the Democratic Party is one of the
laws already approved throughout civilized Europe. The lack of
codes for communicating with this civilization is not the fault of the
anti-communist part of Albanians, which is more than half of it.
This part of Albanian politics finds it difficult to achieve
understanding with democracy just as much as to behave in its field
as a normal part of that democracy. They have called populism onto the stage,
attempting to create in Albanian opinion the idea of an equal and balanced
movement and not of normal elections of the day,
with an imperial-style explanation that there is also a politics worthy of bringing it
closer to Europe. If one were to judge only from the mentality of the socialists
against the backdrop of a fairly European setting, yesterday’s statement alone,
coming from their tower in the center of Tirana, would have been enough for
Europe to raise a barrier against Albania. The terms and concepts spread throughout the statement
resemble Marxist manifestos.
The tendency to equate this campaign with what happened in
Albania in '92 is the negative image of all those great events that saved Albania
from communism. The call to the “people” to go out into the street and defend
democracy, according to the socialists, is a manifestation of the destabilizing term
that they gave Albania during their six governments after pluralism.
Shortly after last night’s statement, the PS boycott does not even align with
five of their criminal declarations to intervene in some streets of Tirana.
What is of the streets is not tables that the socialists ask for so much in parliament,
and likewise neither the people demand it, not even their own people. Nevertheless, that declaration itself in those environments
without finding itself.
The thieves of the people use it as they wish, and at least the declaration should not start
being divided into progressive and non-progressive forces
and Europe. It has no words, it has no trace of Albanian socialism,
no sign of European social democracy. The European left has
no further connection in Albania, and let it be promised that it does not know
that it is the left of Europe.
Yesterday’s statement of the Steering Committee of the Socialist Party deeply insults
the dignity of the other left-wing and right-wing parties as well. It, as
stated in the declaration, has taken upon itself to bring them into parliament by
granting itself the role of arbiter of the parties below. At least the party of the
right-wing spectrum are not mass organizations that, as Ramiz Alia wanted to do in '91,
now the Socialist Party wants to do with them as well.
This commitment cannot be assumed by either the Right League, or the Right Party,
or any other political force. It can only commit itself in this
declaration with some rare exception such as PSD or some other.
Yesterday’s declaration calls socialists into the street to provoke them,
civil unrest, to break it and destabilize the government.
The election campaign will not be terror for provocateurs, communists,
criminals, and Sigurimi spies. Meanwhile, the socialists and their front are united,
differing only in name, since in all the demagoguery that makes up the electoral
initiative of this party, it is not the salvation of democracy, but the salvation
of criminals, spies, and communists of the socialist government.

Important dimensions
in relations between the two
countries
In Berisha I see a true patriot, a man of
democracy, said President Weizman of Israel.
Albanian-Israeli relations are taking on new foundations
with the signing of bilateral agreements
The President of Israel, Weizman,
held a dinner at his presidential residence
in honor of the visit of President Berisha, Mrs. Berisha,
and the delegation accompanying
him.
Greeting
President Berisha, President
Weizman described his visit as a
dimension representing a very
important dimension
in our ties with one another,
our bilateral relations
in investment, agriculture, tourism,
defense, infrastructure, medicine,
culture, science, etc. According to
President Weizman, these
relations are taking on new
foundations with the signing of
bilateral agreements.
The Israeli people, said President
Weizman in effect, honor him
warmly, while extending such feelings in
a difficult time.
For his part, President
Berisha called the trip to Israel a
journey to a place of fellowship. The historical ties between
Albanians and Jews, he said,
have been more qualitative than
quantitative, more symbolic than
broad. Our two nations, among the
oldest in history, have long experienced
difficult times: ethnic cleansing,
true horrors. During this century,
the Jewish nation experienced
the barbarity of the Holocaust, while
Albanians, after being liberated from a totalitarian foreign occupation,
experienced an internal
(totalitarian) occupation which for about 50 years
wrought a true genocide and
many crimes against
its people.
Dwelling on the help of
Albanians for Jews during the
Second World War, President
Berisha said that not a single Jew during
this war was handed over by the
Albanians. The protection of Jews
in Albania is the very legend
of loyalty to man,
of the Albanian to his friend. Berisha said
that the unique stance of the Albanian
nation toward the Holocaust is not only
evidence of its virtue, but
also a great symbol, and for
our ancient nations the most
magnetic symbol.
President Berisha then
praised the efforts and work of the
former Israeli prime minister Yitzhak
Rabin and Prime Minister Shimon
Peres to establish peace and
friendly relations with the Arab neighbors,
with whom Albanians have
very good traditional friendship and cooperation.
I am convinced, said President Berisha, that you, together with
the Arab neighbors, will transform the Middle East into
a region of peace, understanding and
tolerance, cooperation and prosperity.
At the end, President Berisha
expressed his satisfaction for the
existence of the mutual will for
Albanian-Israeli cooperation in the most
important fields.
In honor of President
Berisha, Mrs. Berisha and
the delegation accompanying him,
the Israeli artist Dorit,
whose grandparents were saved by
Albanians during the Second World
War, performed several Albanian songs.
In an interview given to
Albanian television, President
Weizman stressed that I am pleased
that tonight I have here the President
of Albania, a country which
dictatorship separated from its friends.
With Berisha, he said, we have met
several times, he is a friend
and comrade of mine, this is a true patriot, a man
of democracy.
President Berisha, Mrs.
Berisha and the delegation accompanying him went on a visit
to the forest of peace, in the hills of
Jerusalem. President Berisha
placed his own symbol in the forest of peace sent,
which
Afterwards, they made a
visit to Yad Vashem, the symbol of
one of the most important periods of the Jewish nation,
the Holocaust. Everything here is a
tribute to the 6 million Jews,
victims of Nazi madness.
President Berisha and his wife
paid their respects and showed their respect and gratitude
to the fallen.

The scandal of Serbian
funding for socialist deputies
and the newspaper “Kl” has
reached Moscow. It is the Russian
news agency Itar-
Tass which has broadcast this news in its bulletins. The news
speaks precisely about the funding
that the socialist opposition gives to
“the newspaper defined as
independent (Itar-Tass) Koha
Jonë”.
Meanwhile, the transmission
of this news by another agency,
said to make this fact even more
worrying, the reactions of the leaders of “Kl”
remain threats and attacks
against the journalists who have
published these facts in
Albania. The attempt to falsify
a interview
of Pietro Zannoni cited in
“Kl” by attaching other reactions from the leadership
of this newspaper is making
the fact transmitted first
precisely from the Italian press office
of Pietro Zannoni increasingly convincing. The parliamentary
commission of inquiry into this matter
is thought to clarify
whether the millions of dollars poured in by Serbia
into Albania to hinder
the victory of democracy have
also served to finance
the newspaper “Kl”, thus securing
at last the mysterious economic source of this newspaper.
Meanwhile, returning,
the Russian agency “Itar-Tass”, after
publishing the news of the financing of
the socialist opposition, finally
emphasizes: “According to all
prognoses, the Democratic
Party and President Sali
Berisha will once again
have a majority in the next parliament.”

the development of reforms, the foreign policy priorities of Albania,
and the stance on the Kosovo issue. Mrs. Angela and Mr. Van Den Broek
expressed their appreciation for the reforms undertaken in
Albania in the political,
economic, and other fields, and once again assured their support for the further
