The heads of the DC have clashed with journalism Çeka: “We’ll put you in prison” The man who until after the Second World War bore the name Pjetër Kokëdhima and later, as a converted communist in PDSH, appropriated the zaratevjalet, the owner of the veterans’ high school “PDSH”, in Polican, as Pëllumb Ceka veterinarian from Hilar Geka. The reference with Polli’s name has taken a stance against some of the TVSH cameras, calling them “journalists” while at the same time calling them “policemen.” Pëllumb Ceka, known as the failed co-organizer of the second wave of the departure of the civilian population in Gjirokastër, unmasked despite the alibi of the sensational July “PDB”, is becoming red in the face, unable to defend old alibis. Speaking in a language that before the Second World War was used by horse-market touts and not by people with even a minimum of culture, he declared: “If I had known what you were, I wouldn’t have let you leave. We’ll put you in prison.” These words were said to TVSH journalists at a time when the program “Fiks Fare”[?] did not yet exist and when the political climate was being heated by the Polican incidents. Against this backdrop, the action of local PDSH leaders against journalists is presented as an attempt at intimidation. In the dreadful and miserable year 1947, branch 42 of the People’s Defence arrested 105 intellectuals from Tirana. Among them was the secretary of the Tirana Party Committee, Zija Dibra, for whom, as the poet Vilson Blloshmi says ironically, the “shield” before Enver Hoxha was the poem he had dedicated to him. That sweep included people from various fields and repression spread across the city. The text draws parallels between those practices and today’s attitudes toward journalism, suggesting that the spirit of the far left returns whenever free speech is attacked. In Durrës, the administration is becoming prey to party influence and selective exclusions.
