20 October - free and fair elections

-The request to postpone the election date is an unconstitutional request -The PS position is explained by the complex of the deep crisis of trust and threat that the leadership and representation that has engulfed this party! -The boycott of the figure and the criminalization of the entire voting process is not logical, because it does not show that the boycott cannot prevent them from committing this crime in the future Apparently, a participant attentive to the speech of Democratic deputy Prec Zogaj on Albanian television, in analyzing anew what happened during the electoral year, instead of clarifications and withdrawal for its features and for the deadline that the Socialist Party has set regarding the elections of 20 October, has chosen to organize a complicated meeting in confrontation and undertake a tour of demonstrations, to demand the postponement of the date of the local elections. An absurd stance, with dangerous consequences for the normal progress of democratic processes in the country. An unconstitutional and anti-parliamentary stance, which turns into a low act of intrigue and destabilization. The Socialist Party and its leadership have now revealed everything in their own aims. It has lost faith in the opposition, it has lost faith in its program, and it has lost faith even in itself. And in the desperate absence of these minimal premises of the political game, it prepares and stimulates only the scenario of an electoral boycott, which in all likelihood would have serious consequences for the socialism of tomorrow's Albania itself. The Socialist Party's demand for a postponement of the local elections cannot be explained otherwise than as a symptom of its leadership's deep moral and political crisis. Its aim is to find an alibi for a foreseen defeat, by blaming the process and not itself. Instead of normal competition, instead of comparing programs, instead of convincing citizens with an alternative and arguments, it seeks to delegitimize the process. Such behavior serves only tension, confusion, and damage to the country's democratic image. The elections of 20 October must and will be held within the constitutional deadline. They will be another test of the maturity of Albanian democracy and of the civic will to decide by vote.

Tirana against Nano

Mediani has instructed that it is necessary to avoid inaccurate debates and to consolidate power and support pluralism by Nano. Argjesi, went beyond Islam a closed issue. Before the heavy debates from the intervention of the voice between the 2 debaters, one has fought to leave the heads of the lower one after the elections. The socialists of the Tirana branch have condemned, in an advised and oddly determined way, the party Presidency's meeting, implying that the conflict between Fatos Nano and Servet Pëllumbi and others has entered a new phase. In the capital, criticism has focused on the style of leadership and on the ongoing crisis in the PS. It is further stated that internal debates should not harm pluralism and that issues should be resolved with political responsibility. The conflict within the party is presented as a sign of organizational and programmatic weakness.

Socialists within the criteria of boycott

Participation in elections requires internal conditions to consolidate the party, at a time when pressure and political tricks make it increasingly uncompetitive Participation in elections requires internal conditions to consolidate the party, but a large part of the socialists see boycott as an opportunity to avoid an electoral confrontation under unfavorable conditions. This approach reflects the internal crisis and the lack of a clear political strategy. Analysts close to the PS note that the divided positions on the elections are an expression of the leadership's ambiguity. Pressure from the base and debates in the party forums push the discussion toward ever more contradictory decisions. In these circumstances, boycott appears not as an articulated political alternative, but as a symptom of weakness and inability to enter into open competition with opponents.
