EU aid for institutions in Albania Greece will support the proposal made by Italy for the European Union’s relations with Albania to be endorsed at a special meeting of the General Affairs Council TIRANA 2 ATSH/- The international refugee organization announced yesterday that it had collected and sent 200,000 dollars’ worth of food and medicine for the Albanians from Kosovo who have been settled in Albania. The UNHCR NGO spokesperson, Krysel [?], said the aid was distributed in Tirana, Durrës, Krujë and Shkodër. The first aid was received by Kosovars housed in reception centers, hotels and private homes. Greece decided to provide material and economic aid in Albania for the refugee situation. This aid will be given especially to the cities of Korçë and Gjirokastër. This was declared by the Greek Foreign Minister, Theodoros Pangalos, in an interview with the Greek news agency. Pangalos stressed that Greece would continue to provide humanitarian and material assistance to the Albanians from Kosovo, who are leaving their country and crossing into Albania. He stated that the Greek government is ready to send medical teams, medicines and material aid for the Kosovar refugees.
