Shehu: Socialists should declare committee expenses
PD and PS discuss preparations for the June elections
TIRANA - “An important part of the talks on creating the electoral administration has also been the issue of the rescue committees.” This is what the Secretary General of the PD, Mr. Tritan Shehu, said yesterday at a press conference. Calling the existence of the rescue committees illegal, Mr. Shehu said that these committees may continue their activity only as non-governmental organizations. “Just like political parties, non-governmental organizations must also declare their expenses before the relevant commissions, and this must also be done by the rescue committees,” he said. According to Shehu, so far no data have been presented on who finances these committees, and any kind of expenditure by them runs counter to the law on political parties and non-governmental organizations. Speaking about meetings with representatives of the Socialist Party, Shehu said that the talks have focused on the electoral administration, voter lists and other technical issues. He stressed that the PD wants a proper electoral process in June and that the parties must respect the legal rules.

Appointment - elections should be postponed
The Christian Democratic Party and the National Front will support the 1992 electoral law
The National Front is calling for the postponement of the elections and the implementation of the 1992 electoral law. Mr. Abaz Ermeni and Mr. Hysni Selfo, during a press conference, declared that the Christian Democratic Union and the National Front want a calm electoral process and that the elections of 29 June should be held only after the necessary conditions are created. They said they support the return of the 1992 law and oppose the changes made recently. According to them, the elections must ensure real political representation and not produce distortions. Representatives of these political forces said that the climate of violence and insecurity makes the normal conduct of the electoral process difficult.

From the PS there is a kind of revolt of distortion for seizing power by force; this is the road to sabotaging democracy. Its people in Sarandë, Vlorë and everywhere else are also being sent to control and the weapons and are organizing attempts, consequences and propaganda. Our mission is the creation of another power; some can only make so much of an appeal to connect and boycott the count until the law is [believed].
