Democrats in the crosshairs of the red gangs
The terrorist gangs commanded by PS have attacked their political opponents in Vlorë and Tirana. A house where 6 members of a Democratic family lived in Vlorë was attacked with weapons, while in Tirana the Socialist MP? no. The chairman of the PD branch in Vlorë, Mr. Argjent Cibrova, denounced the criminal terrorist acts in Vlorë yesterday before the media. "Last night around 21:30, my house in the Skelë neighborhood was attacked three times with weapons. Then the gangs set fire to my house. The frightened residents managed to get the children out and then informed the police." According to Cibrova, since his family was not at home, there were no casualties as a result of the attack. Cibrova said that that same night he reported it to the police commissariat in Vlorë, but after questioning for 6 hours there was no intervention to stop the attack. After this event, Cibrova reported it to the OSCE in Vlorë and to foreign journalists. According to him, this ugly terrorist act was carried out by people known as extremist PS militants. The residents of the building where Mr. Cibrova lives asked him how they were not? "why would you leave" and threatened him that "you will pay with your life." The residents of the building yesterday accused, at the scene, by name and the persons from the group that carried out the attack. A relative of the Cibrova family said that they were taken to the police and identified with photos and names, but the police released them immediately.
Late last night, the red gangs' retreat in Vlorë continued. All day yesterday, armed men and vehicles moving at high speed circulated in the city's streets. The newspaper was informed that the police were preparing to arrest some of the people who were responsible for the burning of Mr. Cibrova's house. Shortly before our departure from Tirana, the chairman of the PD commission in Vlorë announced that around 15:45 two vehicles with foreign plates had stopped and were circulating in Vlorë. Among the vehicles was a black Mercedes, in which were Socialist MP Fatmir Toçi and Maksim Cikuli. In the other vehicle, a “Benz” van, was the chairman of the PS branch in Vlorë, Albert Shyti, who was moving around the city together with several other Socialist MPs. The three MPs were seen accompanied by other vehicles with heavily armed people, such as automatic weapons and grenades. Throughout yesterday they remained on the move and, from conversations overheard, they ordered the continuation of attacks against right-wing parties. Residents of the “Skelë” neighborhood, where the Cibrova family house was burned down, say that Socialist MP Fatmir Toçi had been there before the incident. The residents of the neighborhood asked him why they were carrying out the attack, while he replied that “today we will set an example, tomorrow we will set Vlorë on fire.” This statement by the Socialist MP was heard by many residents of the area. MP Toçi himself was not seen taking part physically in the attack, but he directed it by phone with the people named by the chairman of the PD branch, asking them “why haven't you burned it yet.”
