To be in opposition, you must deserve that name

To be in opposition today means to be more honest than ever before, just as it is not easy to truly deserve that honor. Being in opposition now in Albania is the most important and most sublime mission, because standing before you are the people who came to power through violence, terror, and political crime. Never before has Albania needed the opposition more than today, and it is the only hope that will restore stability and real peace to this country, shaken dignity, and a clear perspective toward development and Europe. You can by no means be an oppositionist if you cannot look yourself in the eye, because of your past, your present and your future, or if you do not have the courage to confront the opponent and defeat him. To be an oppositionist means to self-criticize the institution, the institution and society, by firmly opposing and denouncing in the name of the just principles you defend. Oppositionists can never be people of gossip and backroom dealings, who weave intrigues against one another or insult and curse political opponents in cafés, but only those who stand before this latter forcefully and with dignity. Oppositionists cannot be those who are swayed by demagogic promises and the deceptive phraseology of those who trample over our Albanian backs, for the destruction of true values and democratic institutions that keep the Albanian people under the spirit of the law after the atrocities of the communist dictatorship. But you can never be an oppositionist if you have been a deceptive official and if, among other things, you have violated the laws that you yourself approved, while you were in public service. Likewise, you cannot be an oppositionist if you do not set your shoulder and your chest to defend, without hesitation, those who came to power with violence, blood and terror. An oppositionist can only be someone who does not deny or bury the difficult times for the opposition, and who preaches resistance and salvation from the revenge of the communists, who today justify the present and cast doubt on the future of Albania. On the contrary, you are not being an oppositionist when you remain silent like a blade of grass, and bow in order to adapt to the power of those who destroyed the values of Albanian democracy, placing themselves at the head of the communist rebellion. Today’s oppositionists must prove with courage that they are unwavering in returning to the country the values stolen by the gangs and by those who returned with Kalashnikovs to power, and above all in removing from Albania the stain and precedent of revolution instead of the mechanism of free liberty. But those who abandon the real struggle of their party and rush home, or simply quietly and temporarily give up politics, cannot be oppositionists today. If it were so, then neither can those who, when they heard their name as parliamentary candidates, declared themselves impatient, withdrew for vacancies and returned to the beaches, leaving free rein to gangs and bandits to seize and violate the elections and Albanian democracy. Oppositionists cannot be those who went in alive, did, or hid in their vote for the sake of the easiest path at a time when everything depended on them. The opposition first needed their presence, even though it was a day of canes and barriers that blocked the view before their eyes and they stood firm, and they came running so they would not be removed, when the one and more the hurbu. We can make oppositionists out of those in power, who in fact will destroy and undermine the difficult mission of building the new opposition, which is the only true hope for Albanians, and for Albanian democracy, melted once again on the face of the enemy by the revenge of communism. To be an oppositionist means to deserve that name.

The elections were neither free, nor fair, nor honest

Half of the Central Election Commission does not recognize the results of the vote. Attempt to falsify the expert report

Fino prepares the ground for whitewashing the murder of young Agim Gjonpali A plan is reported to deceitfully falsify the killing of young Agim Gjon. According to a newspaper that, at will, has been said, the bullet that caused the death of young Gjonpali at the monarchist rally in Tirana was a ricochet and not aimed directly at him. The reference given for this is dark and muddled, saying supposedly that another newspaper did not say such a thing. The author of the article is trapped by the internal nerves of Fino’s environment, and it is clear that the push for this article originated from the prime minister’s own terrorized self. Fino appears to be very interested in quickly smearing the political murder of the 23-year-old, thus cleansing himself of a criminal act comparable to that of 2 April 1991. The authorized push to make this falsification seems ridiculous when it chooses, as with the “bullet of the death,” this. The bullet was from a sniper rifle, with a clearly visible entry wound of 24 mm and an exit wound of 33 cm, causing Gjonpali’s immediate death. No ricochet bullet can cause such a death with so many injuries, since the second impact of the bullet cannot be fatal, much less create a wound of such dimensions. Yesterday’s article seems to have wanted to defend the shameful crime, but it has inadvertently also exposed a purpose of the state’s higher segments, namely the closing of a political murder. Any falsification of the justice institutions and of the newspaper that falsified the monarchy results would be a huge question mark over Prime Minister Fino, the criminal justice system, and the investigators must defend their professionalism and not be drawn into the game of revenge. That is much more what Fino seems to aim for. Any attempt to uncover the political crime all the way down to a basement crime, not by crime and murder, would produce the answer of removing those who hinder and devise such a scenario.

25% of the minutes are irregular

Monarchists sue the Republic in court With an approximate calculation, if the result announced by the CEC is taken into account, where the monarchy received 33% of the votes, and the irregularities officialized by the CEC, estimated at 25%, are added to this result, then the version declared by the monarchists remains true ON PAGE 3
