Today, the parliament of gangs
The real opposition will be absent from the gunfire-filled celebration of the bloodiest parliament in the world
Today Albanians will see the first head of the Albanian state, who will then sit in the seat of honor in parliament beside the one called prime minister, while guards and some of the most dangerous bandits stand near both of them. Imagine the chamber of parliament even without the deputies listed in criminal records and convicted of extortion and kidnapping, of murder and robbery; from today our parliament is a caricature of democracy with weapons.
The accusations with which foreign banks now describe Albanians as a risk to investments are perhaps no less unbelievable than this very image of today’s parliament. For the first time in our modern history we have a political representation elected under the threat of weapons, under the authority of local gangs and in a climate where the state has been unable even to protect the vote or ensure order.
If the representatives of the real opposition will not be there today, that is not because they are absent from the country, but because the current political process has pushed them out of play. Instead of a parliament that would serve national reconciliation, the country is entering a chamber where shots will echo more than reason. And this is the worst news that can be given to a people exhausted by months of violence and insecurity.

At the center of the discussions is the party’s internal strength, the relationship between the leadership and the branches, as well as the need for clearer discipline in decision-making. Some of the proposals are expected to be formally presented at the next meeting.

The near betrayal continues to be played out at the Ministry of Defense
The gang, which like a very small number of soldiers has come completely under the control of the chief of the general staff, received orders yesterday to withdraw part of the arsenal. Yesterday in the same institution there were rapid and suspicious movements, which were noticed by people who managed to enter the storage units.
According to our Defense sources, the order was clear: to take out quantities of shells and military equipment, which are being transported in directions that have not yet been verified. In all cases, the name of the future prime minister Fatos Nano has been mentioned by people who claim to be carrying out orders from above.
