Socialists in handcuffs Arbnori is isolated by Gjynushi Arbnori's group is not allowed to go to the government; the Tirana PD greets the stance of the Albanian Mandela. Hundreds of young people write in front of the People's Assembly headquarters: Yesterday Achilles of yesterday of the PD, Tirana Hall 15, the central corridor of the PDSH, where Arbnori also began his hunger strike on Thursday, is quite crowded with people. Professors, intellectuals, personalities from Albanian life have come and gone since the first day in the office where Pjetër Arbnori is fighting hunger against the injustices done to the opposition and to his own figure. As rarely before, after the protest against the imprisonment of Fatos Nano at the head of an opposition protest, the PDSH is seeing its most difficult days. All the more so when at the head of this protest is the symbol of resistance to communism, also called the "Albanian Mandela." In the hall, Mr. Arbnori has welcomed hundreds and hundreds of people standing up. More than 2,000 signatures have arrived in a petition for him, through which the Speaker of the Assembly is asked to return to him his office and the mandate of vice-chairman. A young man has placed a painting of Arbnori in his office. In the evening, young boys and girls came to the doors of the PDSH. School-age young men and women flooded the opposition halls to give courage to Mr. Arbnori and the "Albanian Mandela." The local television ends the strike

TVSH director: No news about Arbnori's hunger strike TVSH director: No news about Arbnori's hunger strike The local television ends the strike No news has been broadcast about the hunger strike of the former Chairman of the People's Assembly, one of the founders of the PDSH, Pjetër Arbnori, in his fight against the opposition. According to the TVSH statement, made by the general director of this institution, no news about Arbnori's hunger strike could be aired because the strike was taking place in a state institution and was not considered news. Regarding this absurd, unethical and anti-democratic stance, the PDSH made public yesterday evening a press statement, in which it condemns the position of state television against a moral act and peaceful protest by one of the brightest figures of Albanian anti-communism. "The People's Assembly and not TVSH are the scandal," this statement says. According to the PDSH, "TVSH, on the orders of the new government, is censoring Arbnori's hunger strike."
