Nano: Kosovars must be stopped!

The government blocks the distribution to other cities in Albania of people arriving from Tropoja. The north on the verge of mass starvation. A secret Milosević - Nano plan? By Bardhyl LONDO It was a test despite the hatred toward the defeated. Perhaps the first time in history that this happened. Only the totalitarians of the East have gathered every possible slander against the defeated enemy. Especially when he is defeated by a popular revolt. Even though their courage was directed at the murdered man. In any case, history does not ask totalitarians about its truths. They want to leave it as they have slandered it, because courage is not lacking against a dead man. It may have happened over many other centuries, but never in our history. To be overthrown by a popular revolt and then go on to inflame hatred against yourself only with the “deeds” you have committed—that has been unforgivable for the Nano government. It was a government of assassinations with paid men, with words that incited hatred, but also with direct orders to use government weapons to eliminate “political opponents.” Everyone remembers the dynamite that blew up the newspaper "Koha Jonë", TV Shijaku and prominent businessmen. Everyone remembers the threats and warnings about “people’s heads,” about “brave men” with pistols who would save the homeland from the “criminals.” It was the government in which news of the arrest of opponents, attempted killings of others, poisons and explosives filled the media space. It was the government in which the Albanian “Skanderbeg” of the day called for “blood,” where spokesmen and ministers spoke like bandits, where state and party were entangled in hatred. It is no coincidence that at a time when Albania has seen the drama of Kosovo with its own eyes, the government came out with positions that wounded the national conscience. Instead of opening the country to those fleeing, dispersing them to other cities and helping them with every possible means, obstacles were raised, an order was issued to stop Kosovars from going to other cities in Albania. This happened precisely when the north was threatened by mass hunger and when the burden of thousands of arrivals weighed on Tropoja. This was not merely incompetence. It was political cynicism. It was an attempt to use misery as an instrument of pressure. It was behavior that served only that dark logic that sees the Albanian as a hostage of power. That is why the question arises heavily: a secret Milosević - Nano plan? When Belgrade sought the moral emptying of Albania, when it aimed to create panic, hatred and mistrust, did this behavior from Tirana not serve that very purpose? Thousands of citizens came out into the square for Kosovo, cheered UÇK, and showed that this people has a different heart from that of the government. The democrats of Tirana opened the doors of their homes to those expelled from Deçan and showed that national solidarity cannot be stopped by decree. In this sense, this is not only a matter of refugee administration. It is a test of national character. It is the difference between a state that protects its brothers and a power that sees them as a threat. It is the difference between an Albania that feels Kosovo as its own wound and a government that measures everything by the calculations of the day. And when history is written, what will remain is not only who came to Kosovo’s defense, but also who tried to obstruct that defense.

Democrats receive the arrivals from Kosovo

66 people, children and elderly, arrived yesterday from Junik in Tirana. It is believed that the number of arrivals from Kosovo has exceeded 20,000 Yesterday in the early hours of the morning, 66 people arriving from Kosovo landed in Tirana. Some relatives arriving from Kosovo declared that they had left under difficult conditions and suddenly. Some of them, together with the chairman of the Democratic Party himself, Mr. Sali Berisha, have been accommodated in a private house in Kodër-Sharrë. During the conversation with the relatives, Mr. Berisha declared that the Democratic Party is ready to accommodate all the emigrants arriving from Kosovo. “The Kosovars,” Mr. Berisha stated, “are in their home in Albania. We are ready to do our duty, just as every Albanian has done in difficult times.” He then stressed that the notice from the Ministry of Public Order and the Ministry of Labour, concerning their distribution to different cities, is an obligation that the government cannot stop. “Qarri can be settled in Vlorë and Shkodër, Mirditë and Lezhë. Our obligation is to shelter them.” He also criticized the absurd government order that prohibits their settlement in other Albanian cities. Likewise, he accused the government of trying to treat this issue as an administrative burden and not as a national duty. At Rinas airport, where the arrivals came in, representatives of the Democratic Party and its structures in Tirana were present. The newcomers were received with interest and then escorted to the places where they would be temporarily sheltered.

PS: Shebalaj is worth more than Kosovo

For the Socialists, victory in the commune of Kavajë, where the fate of the coalition with as many allies is at stake, matters more than Kosovo engulfed in flames. These thoughts do not even try to hide behind the “socialist” masks of the present. They are showing day by day that they are more tied to their own power than to the national pain. Bulletproof vests for police officers, numerous forces brought into the center of Kavajë, local spokesmen and commissioners moving around in police cars and vehicles—all this gives the impression of a climate of pressure and intimidation. Meanwhile, residents of the area complain about interference and attempts to manipulate the will of the voters. In these circumstances, Shebalaj appears as a symbol of political confrontation, while the Kosovo issue is pushed into the background. That is why the democrats interpret this behavior as proof that for the PS keeping the commune matters more than helping Kosovo. A.S.

11.2 days since the arrest of the former Minister of the Interior

Ali Kazazi, a political prisoner The former Minister of the Interior and of the first post-communist government, poor in vehicles with which to move around and poor in meetings, has been and remains a determined man. He was arrested on ridiculous charges. The same happened with other political prisoners, who were placed in the dock for motives not supported by evidence. The charges against Kazazi are unfounded and the process against him was turned into a political instrument. His family has denounced the lack of transparency and the attempts to present him as guilty without being properly heard. If justice functions, this case should be reviewed. A.S.
