The government’s blow against the opposition was recorded yesterday in the most criminal manner. Behind the three executions carried out in the last 24 hours lies the hand of the government. These executions, it seems, were all carried out in the same way and are intended not only to eliminate political opponents, but also to spread terror and panic among opponents. Yesterday in Ersekë three activists of the Democratic Party were killed; they had taken part in the confrontation two days earlier with the police and with the communists in Ersekë. Likewise, two activists of the Democratic Party were killed in Tepelenë, and another person from the Legality Movement was also killed. Both of these killings, the one in Ersekë and the one in Tepelenë, took place at night, were carried out in secrecy, according to well-organized scenarios, but those that prepare concealed executors as always in the name of ordinary crime. In any case, it will not be difficult to find the killers. Since the three killings happened immediately after the opposition’s confrontations with the police and with the Socialists, the perpetrators must be sought in the ranks of the police and the militants. The killers are paid one thousand marks. These people who carry out political killings and who are labeled as ordinary criminals are numbered in the hundreds in Albania. Likewise, the police has a nominal list of persons who must be killed. The first task of the government’s hired killers that night was the execution of the three people from Erseka, who had been involved in the confrontation with the police. Their execution is a continuation of the communist attack against the Albanian opposition. Two active people and one child were killed. The government is striking the opposition, its people. But the government drags innocent children along as victims too. In Kolonjë, the man who was in the crosshairs and two children were killed. By all accounts, the government is now using murder as a means to hold on to power. After starting with imprisonments, violent internments and police persecution, the government has also turned toward the physical elimination of opponents. The opposition must stay alert. It is in a difficult moment. The red storm is striking its supporters every day. The opposition should not disperse into rallies, but should organize itself to defend itself. Everyone has the right to confront the red power with their own life. It is no longer time for illusions that this power governs with politics. It is governing with bullets.
