splitting Albania
Since early morning, hundreds of citizens of Tirana and a large crowd of students confined in the hunger strike at Student City filled Skanderbeg Square with enthusiasm and determination, where the rally organized by the Democratic Party in support of the students was held. Thousands of people, outraged by the policy of the “Nano” government, marched toward Student City, where they expressed solidarity with the strikers, who are demanding the resignation of the Socialist government. In the square and along the march, slogans were shouted against the government and early elections were demanded.
Across the square, national flags and banners in support of the students were waving.
The protest took place in a tense political climate, while the opposition accuses the government of violence, arrests and pressure on political opponents.

The chairman of the Committee on International Relations, Political Activities, Popular Education and the American Congress, Benjamin Gilman, warns the government
That the investigations into responsibility for the events of 14 September be honest and impartial, fully respecting the law. Asked whether he thinks the protests of recent days will have an impact on calming the situation in the country, he said that “it is not the time to continue with political revenge”.
The arrest of Mr. Berisha would bring serious consequences for Albania’s stability and would seriously damage the country’s image in the eyes of international partners.

At the parliamentary group meeting of the PS two weeks ago, at which the party chairman and Prime Minister Fatos Nano presented his government program, members of the party leadership raised harsh criticism against his political figure. It was MP and chairman of the Law Committee in Parliament, Sabit Brokaj, who stated more clearly than anyone else that “the Nano government is unacceptable and incapable of administering the country.”
Since then, clashes between high-ranking figures of the left have appeared publicly. Accusations, counter-accusations and numerous tensions have accompanied developments in the socialist camp.
The article deals with the political and moral responsibility that, according to the author, begins with the very leadership of the Socialists.
Why we demand the resignation of Prime Minister Majko
Analysis by the hunger strike committee. Aqela Nashti speaks about the reasons that led the students to lock themselves in
In this tense political climate, the students say they have chosen the hunger strike as a last resort to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Pandeli Majko. According to them, the government has lost its moral and political legitimacy because of police violence, divisive language and the lack of dialogue.
The students declare that their demands are political, but also moral: the return of the rule of law, an end to repression against the opposition, and the guarantee of free elections.
Aqela Nashti presents the reasons that, according to the strikers, made the decision to go on strike unavoidable.

In this peak of summer. It is your duty, democrats of Albanians, to defend it by every means and sacrifice, as they did for the overthrow of the neo-dictatorship, led by “O spakun” and the “Socialist Party”, allies of criminals, murderers and thieves.
