Malaj: Another price increase
In parliament, the state budget is fraudulent and based on false figures
The budget ignores Nano’s promise in Vlorë to return the money. Taxes are being increased to pay more of the former Sigurimi officers brought back to SHIK

The stance toward Parliament should be reconsidered

Democratic Party meets
The stance toward
Parliament should be
reconsidered
Yesterday, after the Presidency of the Democratic Party met to discuss the package rejected by the European Parliamentary Troika and the party’s stance toward this package.
At this meeting, after discussions that lasted about three hours, the members of the PD Presidency assessed the package of the European Parliamentary Troika and the Statement of the U.S. State Department as important contributions to pulling Albania out of the deep crisis into which the current regime has plunged it.
At this meeting, views were expressed that the Troika package should be further insisted upon by the government and other political forces, and that the government should implement the obligations arising from this package.
At this meeting, deep concern was expressed over the Parliament–Constitutional Court conflict and its unresolved state, the non-implementation of the agreement on public media, and the reinstatement to duty, in contradiction with Council of Europe Resolution 619, of the Troika’s declaration concerning former State Security officers and members of bands and committees.
The Troika’s insistence on this major issue was also praised, as was the monitoring of the Albanian Parliament because of the failure of its current leadership to follow procedures.
At this meeting, the PDSH Presidency supported the political positions of the PD leadership in the meeting with the Troika.
At the end of the meeting, the PD Presidency assessed that:
1. The Troika package constitutes an important document for shaping the stance of all future Albanian political forces in government.
2. The PD Presidency recommends to the National Council that, at its next meeting, it reconsider its stance toward Parliament, bearing in mind the fact that the PD was forced to leave Parliament and that the failure to resolve its crisis has not been a final boycott strategy, but a powerful protest non-participation endorsed both by Albanians and by the international community. The return of the PD to Parliament marks the end of this protest non-participation and its continuation in other forms of democratic protest.
3. The PD Presidency declares that the Democratic Party is and will remain determined for a constructive constitutional dialogue.
Also at this meeting, the presidency expressed full solidarity with the living martyrs who are suffering on the 18th day of their hunger strike and considers the government’s attitude toward their demands inhumane.
Nano cabinet declares war on “RD”
The Minister of Finance files a lawsuit against “RD” journalist Migen Demirxhi. Malaj the rentier threatens the free press
18 days on hunger strike
The Nano cabinet further intensified yesterday its war against the opposition press.
Minister Malaj has prepared a lawsuit against “RD” journalist Migen Demirxhi, concerning the article in question and also as part of an attempt to intimidate this newspaper, which is among the newspapers that denounce the newspaper’s economic and social section.
Accusations and sending journalists to court do not surprise the editorial staff of “Rilindja Demokratike” in the least. Only over matters of Fatos Nano’s excesses, our editorial office has been dragged to court by a gang, by the Minister of the Interior, and now most recently by the Minister of Finance. During this time, journalists have also been subjected to heavy psychological pressure from certain segments of the state, their telephones have been cut off almost every day, and thanks to the extremely low professionalism of SHIK employees, anyone who speaks on the phone now realizes whether they are being wiretapped.
These days, the editorial notebooks still bear the marks of the July bullets. A journalist from the political page was injured by a police car, one of our correspondents was taken hostage by bandits, one of the deputy editors was assaulted without police intervention, while one of them was detained by Police Station No. 1.
Naturally, such state persecution has also been confirmed by the State Department. In its latest report it said that journalists seem not to feel safe under the Nano government.
The editorial staff of “RD” naturally does not feel at all safe under this government of smugglers, born and nourished by criminal segments of Albania and regional mafia networks. But the editorial staff of “RD” is not afraid and has no intention of retreating from its fight against the criminal state installed in Albania, against the mafia installed in power, to expose in every way the immorality of Albanian government officials, including complainant Arben Malaj, to expose the criminality of this government in all the forms it displays today: smuggling, organized trafficking, manipulation of the wealth of Albanians deposited in several pyramid and investment firms, etc., etc.
Meanwhile, the newspaper “RD” and its journalists have done exactly that and will continue to do so with high professional seriousness, respecting the principles of free and fair press, something that is not expected to be an obstacle for the state, perhaps with mafia segments of today’s bandit state.
The editorial office does not know the specific complaint of Minister Malaj, one of which, during an article in itself. In the news written for TV he does not mention the article for which he has thought of taking journalist Migen Demirxhi to court. We are waiting to learn more details of the complaint, and the reader can be sure that the editorial office possesses plenty of concrete facts that will keep Minister Malaj in court forever.

The government is at war against crime and smuggling
Breaking news
The government is at war against
crime and smuggling
In order to reduce criminality as much as possible,
to soften unemployment and to
fight smuggling, the government recently took an important
decision: ministers’ secretaries and the women of the government must not come to work by limousine. Because our governors are decent
and do not have their minds on governing.
- It is not yet known how many centimeters
above the knees the skirts of the women
working in the prime minister’s office should be,
but at least a working group was set up to
determine precisely the length of the skirts and the model of the décolletage.
The head of the working group was unanimously chosen as Gaqo Apostoli.
After this harsh government decision, there
should be a significant reduction in crime and
smuggling, as well as the creation of new
jobs.
