Specifically, there are three issues addressed in the Democratic Party's call: first, the effort to establish peace in Kosovo, where apparently there are still few chances[?]; second, the dramatic situation in Albania, which would not go unnoticed by international diplomacy; third, the demand that local elections be held according to standards. The Democratic Party press release says that the visit of Albanian Prime Minister Pandeli Majko to the US was a failed visit, because "at the center of concern for a political solution to the conflict in Kosovo, senior American officials have set as a condition political stability in Albania." According to the PD, Washington considers the current government responsible for the failure of reforms, the economic crisis and the spread of corruption. The statement says that the Clinton-Majko talk on Kosovo was positive, but this does not diminish the American administration's critical assessment of the situation in Albania. Peace blocked at Prishtina airport

On Friday, the Serbs blocked the Albanian delegation on the road, mostly by threatening the members of the delegation with weapons. According to sources in Prishtina, the Serbian authorities prevented the movement of Albanian representatives toward the airport, thus delaying the departure for Rambouillet. International observers stated that the climate of tension created by Serbian forces in Prishtina has significantly complicated efforts for a peaceful solution. The members of the Albanian delegation were forced to return temporarily. ON PAGE 5
