We will go to Pristina

Kosovo Albanian people are experiencing the hardest days in all their existence under oppression. The horror of madness, a wave of terror, fire, annihilation and massacres that has engulfed almost all of Kosovo is shocking the world. But above Kosovo, in these terrible days, the great victor is being outlined more clearly than ever: the confrontation with the price of freedom. Amid the waves of exile, the pain of displacement, the many and great losses, and a crown of tears, Kosovo is rising and speaking to everyone with its own voice. There are long columns of refugees, exhausted and shocked men, women and children, crossing the border into Albania. On carts, on tractors, in cars and on foot, hungry, tired and exhausted, they are disembarking and moving toward salvation, to restore to humanity the neglected image of violated Kosovo. With their tired, dirty faces, wounded by hell, we once again see the spirit of resistance of a people, and once again that the world is experiencing a tragedy that is not enough to call merely Albanian. The people of Kosovo are facing this new war once again with their heads held high, with a dignity that no one can take from them. They are crossing into poor Albania, but for them it is their country, an open shelter in the most difficult hour. This day of mass flight from Kosovo, this day of their pain, is a day of our national responsibility. We must be close to them with our hearts, with bread, with shelter, and with dignity. Kosovo is with them. Freedom is with them. ON PAGE 5
