Many of them are taking part in the fighting in Kosovo, but a good number of them do not want to fight for Milošević. In this context, sources close to the UÇK say that they have taken hostage a number of Serbian professional soldiers, in order to prevent their sending to the Kosovo front. According to the same sources, these actions are increasing as the Serbian offensive against the Albanian population continues. The UÇK aims to strike at Serbian military structures and hinder operations on the ground. According to the sources, fighting in various areas of Kosovo continues with intensity. In some cases Serbian soldiers and police have fallen into ambushes. Movements of Serbian forces are also reported and, despite NATO air strikes, Serbian units continue ethnic cleansing and the displacement of the Albanian population.
