Why does the Thaçi government wrongly seek to talk with Rugova?

By Astrit PATOZI Some time ago, the journalist of "Zëri"... comparing the Bukoshi government with that of Thaçi, asked this strange question: "Why does the Bukoshi government criticize the President of Kosovo, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, instead of going to ask him about his fate?". The answer is very simple. The Bukoshi government is not seeking Rugova, because communication with people abducted by Miloseviç's fascist regime cannot be the same as before. Moreover, the Bukoshi government recognizes no political or moral right for any self-proclaimed government, such as Mr. Thaçi's, to demand accountability from President Rugova. The Bukoshi government was created by the legitimate institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, whereas Mr. Thaçi's is the product of a vague political and military process. As a result, it cannot even claim to fully represent the political will of the Albanians of Kosovo. In a time when Kosovo is experiencing the greatest national tragedy, everyone must know their place and not create confusion. President Rugova remains the symbol of peaceful resistance and of the elected institutions of Kosovo. Any attempt to use his name for narrow political calculations is wrong. Continues on page 5
