Return to Kosovo, the victory of the Albanians

The meeting was very warm and very friendly. The essence of this meeting was national unity, and I found in Dr. Rugova the same views on this unity, but other day-to-day politics require that we postpone for a while the talks on the integration of ethnic Albania, because today the problem of the moment is the return of the Albanians of Kosovo to Kosovo. First, we are for the victory of the Albanians of Kosovo, which means their return to Kosovo, and second, their free settlement in Kosovo. This victory is an all-Albanian victory,” said Mr. Berisha. He reiterated the commitment of PD to restore the lost faith among Albanians, that its strength is the western vocation of Albanians and the European vocation of Albania. He recalled that the priority of the work of the democrats and the citizens of Gjirokastër should be the return of those who left, as well as care for those who came from Kosovo. He praised the democratic structures of the city and all the citizens for the warm and humane reception given to the people who arrived from Kosovo. Berisha called on all state structures, local government, and PD structures to raise the spirit of solidarity, ensuring bread, shelter, education and services for the Albanians of Kosovo. In the following, Mr. Berisha recalled that most of the free countries have lined up alongside the Albanians of Kosovo and that the Belgrade regime is heading toward defeat. “Today the Albanians of Kosovo have greater allies than ever, but also an internal force that is the heroism of the KLA and the sacrifice of the Albanian people,” he said. He said that democrats have the duty to work for a free, democratic and Western Albania, which helps Kosovo and the national interest. The government subdues Azem Hajdari's killers

ON PAGE 2 Every passing day takes on new hues. Wonderful and eternal, the moral and political emotions of honest citizens convey his untarnished figure as a symbol of determination and resistance. Such were also the messages of the commemorative gathering organized by the Çamëria association, which named the street connecting the city center with the stadium after him. The government of Fatos Nano and Pandeli Majko has transformed the state crime into a hopeless process, while public opinion demands the truth about Azem Hajdari's murder and the punishment of those responsible. After 257 days since his death, the memory of Azem Hajdari stands as a strong accusation against the government and the institutions that have failed to deliver justice. Today, 257 days since the killing of the December leader

Notice

The leadership of the Christian Democratic Party is organizing on 29.05.1999 at 10:30 a.m., at the House of the Officer in Kavajë, a meeting of the National General Council for the election of the Executive Presidency. The experience gained from previous years proves that the future of the center-right depends on the strength, clarity and consistency of each Christian Democrat's work. The times require us, in these critical days, to renew the belief that Albania and Kosovo, the Albanian people in the Balkans, are moving securely on the Euro-Atlantic path. We call on the comrades and friends of the Christian Democratic Party present at this meeting to take part. PDSH LEADERSHIP
