In continuation of this atmosphere, the Albanian government, through its Foreign Minister Paskal Milo, has made it even clearer that it is against the UÇK and that it supports the Kosovo government and its legitimate institutions. In an interview with BBC, Milo spoke out against the actions of the UÇK, saying that “they are actions incited from outside” and that “they aim to destabilize Albania.” It is clear that the Albanian government's accusations of the involvement of external factors in the unrest on the northern border with Kosovo run counter to the assessments of the situation and the Kosovo problem made by the international factor and by Albanian public opinion itself. In all its political statements, the UÇK has made it clear that its military efforts are seen as an attempt to liberate Kosovo from Serbia and not as a destabilization of Albania.
