The DP should be more open than ever

EDITORIAL By Sali BERISHA As chairman of the Democratic Party, I invite all those who founded the Democratic Party, former DP MPs, and all DP members and activists who have felt sidelined over the years to restore their trust and commitment to the DP. I also call on all DP structures to be open to everyone who was unfairly sidelined, or who became disillusioned or angry with the DP over the years, but did not join other parties, thereby showing that their demands were not motivated by ambition for a career or power, but by their commitment to the DP, its democratic structures and its governance. on page 3

Today marks 339 days since the murder of the December Leader

The government protects Azem Hajdari’s killers Every day that passes since the murder of Azem Hajdari, symbol of democracy and pluralism, proves the involvement of Fatos Nano’s government and its successor in the crime that shook the entire Albanian world. The government of the former communists, which leaves free and unaccountable the criminals who took the life of the December Leader, shows Albanians that it has been and remains on the side of the murderers, who have names of their own but are untouched by those in power. Democrats and all Albanians who cherish and honored Azem Hajdari cannot tolerate this under any circumstances. The government must either apprehend the criminals and bring them to justice, or publicly declare that it itself committed the murder of Azem Hajdari.
