Who are the “wise men” Nano is looking for?

editorial By Astrit PATOZI The chairman of the Socialist Party, Fatos Nano, who has demonstrated four times during his tenure as prime minister, has called for the creation of an alliance of “wise people” who, according to him, will finally make this country work. In fact, there is no reason for us to prejudge a political initiative merely because it comes from the opposing camp, even when it is proposed by someone who has repeatedly shown that he is very good at doing the opposite of what he is now proposing. Fatos Nano really is calling for a pact among “wise” people, but according to his own conception of wisdom. He is seeking an agreement among “gentlemen” who do not quarrel and do not talk about one another, but come to an understanding to divide up the slices of the corruption cake on page 3

Today, 448 days since the murder of the Leader of the Right

The government protects Azem Hajdari’s killers Every day that passes since the murder of Azem Hajdari, the symbol of democracy and pluralism, proves the involvement of Fatos Nano’s government and that of his successor in the crime that shook the entire Albanian world. The governments of the former communists, which have left and still leave unprotected the criminals who took the life of the Leader of the Right, show Albanians that they have been and remain on the side of the murderers, whose identities are known, but who remain untouched by those in power. Democrats and all Albanians who loved and honored Azem Hajdari can in no way tolerate this fact. The government must either capture the criminals and bring them to justice, or publicly declare that it itself committed the murder of Azem Hajdari.
