The platform read yesterday in the hall of the Palace of Culture in Tirana by Genc Pollo was almost a plagiarism, taken from former Prime Minister Aleksandër Meksi, who did not attend the meeting at all. Apart from the vile attacks against the very essence of the Democratic Party, for which Genc Pollo himself is a specialist, the entire remainder of the so-called platform “for a successful DP” had been lifted from Mr Meksi’s alternative, which was published in the newspaper “Rilindja Demokratike” on the opening day of the DP’s Sixth Congress. Regardless of the value Mr Pollo places on the newspaper “RD”, most of the things he said at the podium had already been published by us once, when former Prime Minister and MP Aleksandër Meksi submitted them for publication. Written by him, and despite differing from the platform adopted by the DP’s Sixth Congress, it certainly had far more dignity and value than the malicious additions made by Pollo and his friends. Indeed, the newspaper “RD”, which Mr Pollo does not hesitate to insult, had shown itself to be very open by publishing it precisely on the day of the DP Congress, even though it did not align with the Democratic Party’s official line. On this occasion, Pollo and his friends, who know only how to imitate in this world, should apologize to Aleksandër Meksi, firstly because they stole his texts, made public several months earlier, and secondly because they added dirty and base things to them, with which even the DP’s fiercest opponents disagree.

Today, 468 days since the murder of the December Leader Every day that passes since the murder of Azem Hajdari, the symbol of democracy and pluralism, proves the involvement of Fatos Nano’s government and that of his successor in the crime that shook the entire Albanian world. The governments of the former communists, who hold in their hands the criminal record of those who took the life of the December Leader, show Albanians that they have been and remain on the side of the murderers, who have names and surnames but are untouched by those in power. Democrats and all Albanians who experienced the attack on Hajdari cannot feel at ease or forget the crime. The government must either dispel the suspicion that it is criminal, or face a trial before criminal justice and publicly declare that it itself carried out the murder of Azem Hajdari.
