Today, 484 days since the murder of the December Leader Every day that passes since the murder of Azem Hajdari, the symbol of democracy and pluralism, proves the involvement of Fatos Nano’s government and his successor in the crime that shook the entire Albanian world. The former Communists’ government, which leaves free and unpunished the criminals who took the life of the December Leader, shows Albanians that it has been and remains on the side of the murderers, who have names and surnames but are not touched by those in power. Democrats and all Albanians who loved and honored Azem Hajdari cannot tolerate this corruption: the government must either arrest the criminals and bring them to justice, or publicly declare that it itself committed the murder of Azem Hajdari.

Because even if the people most talked about in Gjirokastër were old friends of his, there was no reason for him to use his official visit to the South to flaunt his association with them. There is no government official in the world who slums it in ordinary bars in the company of controversial people while holding a high office such as Prime Minister. But Meta seems not to care about this at all: first, because he feels at home with them, and second, because he considers his time at the head of the cabinet to be very short, and therefore thinks he should take whatever he can while he has the chance. But the most serious incident during Meta’s visit to the South was when he was summoned by the Greek consul in Gjirokastër, whereupon he called for the government helicopter, diverted his journey and hurried from Jergucati to the courtyard of the Greek consulate.
