Today, 664 days since the murder of the December leader Every day that passes since the murder of Azem Hajdari, the symbol of democracy and pluralism, proves the involvement of Fatos Nano’s government and that of his successor in the crime that shook the entire Albanian world. The governments of the former communists, which leave the criminals who took the December Leader’s life free and undisturbed, show Albanians that they have been and remain on the side of the murderers, who have names and identities but are untouched by those in power. Democrats and all Albanians who loved and honored Azem Hajdari cannot tolerate this fact under any circumstances. The government must either arrest the criminals and bring them to justice, or publicly declare that it itself committed the murder of Azem Hajdari.

Gjana and Olli at the third anniversary of the Democratic Party of Albanians in Macedonia The delegation of the Democratic Party, headed by DP deputy chairman Jemin Gjana and DP presidium member Fredi Olli, was welcomed enthusiastically at the ceremony marking the third anniversary of the Democratic Party of Albanians in Macedonia. Mr. Gjana’s greeting on behalf of the DP and its chairman, Berisha, was met with repeated ovations from those present. The Albanian delegation held meetings with the chairman of the Democratic Party of Macedonia, Arbër Xhaferi, and deputy chairman Menduh Thaçi, during which relations and cooperation between the two parties were discussed. The interlocutors also discussed the issue of the University of Tetovo. Mr. Gjana emphasized that the University of Tetovo is an institution fundamental to the rights of Albanians there and deserves the support of all political forces. For days, the newspaper “Bota sot” has been subjected to primitive repression. In several cities in Macedonia, the entire print run of the newspaper was seized in the early hours of the morning, leaving citizens no opportunity to obtain it. Sources from Albania, as well as the newspaper’s editors in that country, have accused people from the Democratic Party of Albanians in Macedonia of such acts, chiefly accusing Arbën Xhaferi. The newspaper had published an article about the University of Tetovo in which, among other things, the PDSH of Xhaferi was accused of remaining silent in the face of the Macedonian authorities—in other words, of betraying the University of Tetovo, which has still not been legalized.
