Every day that passes since the murder of Azem Hajdari, the symbol of democracy and pluralism, proves the involvement of Fatos Nano’s government and his successor in the crime that shook the entire Albanian world. The governments of the former communists, which leave free and untroubled the criminals who took the life of the December Leader, show Albanians that they have been and remain on the side of the murderers, who have names and identities but are untouched by those in power. Ndre Legisi to commemorate Naim Frashëri
The Minister of State, Ndre Legisi, has been appointed chair of the special government commission for the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the poet Naim Frashëri. Reliable sources from the Prime Minister’s Office report that the Culture Minister, Edi Rama, acted as matchmaker for Legisi’s new assignment. According to the sources, Edi Rama is quoted as saying that nobody could do this job better than Ndreja. One of the arguments Rama used in making his proposal was that Mr. Legisi has not only never read anything by Naim Frashëri, but has also passed through all the government ministries without ever having a book in hand since leaving high school. Another argument the Culture Minister used to support Legisi’s candidacy was the fact that Ndreja is a villager and graduated from the Kamza Institute, while Naim Frashëri wrote “Bagëti e Bujqësi”. It is reported that Dritëro Agolli, Alfred Uçi, Sabri Godo, and others will assist Minister Legisi in organizing the commemorative events.

The meeting will be attended by the Democratic Party chairman, Prof. Dr. Sali Berisha.

The meeting of the chairpersons will be at the Democratic Party headquarters, Durrës branch, at 12:00 on 21.07.2000.
