THE SONS OF PS’S PRODIGAL
Ledio Ruçi speaks: I don't know, the incident was filmed. The minister orders the reopening of Xhuvani's file
The accident involving Gramoz’s son and the killing committed by Luiza Xhuvani’s son have shaken the judiciary with the rulings
News The court releases the son of PS MP Gramoz Ruçi after the accident that caused the death of a young woman on Sunday evening. Clashes between the prosecutor on the case, Blerim Tanushi, and the head of accident investigations at the police, Ahmet Meçi. It has been learned that a camera in a currency exchange shop recorded the entire accident. Meanwhile, Justice Minister Eduard Halimi orders a review of Kostandin Xhuvani’s file, sentenced to two years in prison for a killing. Two serious events that have one thing in common: the sons of two PS MPs TIRANE Poli Hoxha Yesterday the Tirana court decided to leave 32-year-old Ledion Ruçi in prison, while issuing an arrest order for citizen Eduard Çani. The two friends were involved in a tragic accident on Sunday night, as a result of which Brunilda Pinderi lost her life, while two other people were injured. Ledion Ruçi was driving a BMW X6 and was coming from Parliament Street toward Elbasan when he hit the minicooper driven by Eduard Çani. But everything will become clear once the police and the prosecutors in charge of the case also examine the footage recorded at the exchange office. “I don’t know, justice will speak. I know that everything was filmed.” This is what Ledion Ruçi told his friends yesterday, immediately after leaving the cell where he had been detained. But his statement cannot avert the dispute that has started between the police and the prosecutor’s office. The leaders of the capital’s police reacted sharply, calling the prosecutor’s action unfair. Although the investigation into the serious incident continues and the expert report has not yet been completed, the prosecution representatives, based... continues on page 2 In the photo: Photomontage, Ledion Ruçi in hospital and Kostandin Xhuvani

The village that can be seen
Editorial
By Arben Rrozhani The village that can be seen Dritan Prifti has been telling us many things for almost a year now. The things we also (did not) know. As rarely happens in Albania’s petty deal-making, he has shown us from “inside,” in image and sound, how things are done in this country, how money is divided, who gets it. Two days ago, more forcefully than on previous occasions when he visited the judiciary and revealed other details, he showed how the country’s public wealth is sold, oil in this case. He showed who would get the money and the benefits, and how. Former minister Dritan Prifti is not a penitent before Justice, but rather a repentant individual, as to why justice is not with the state and its wealth. Albania is, unfortunately, that village of oppressors that does not want a guide. He is neither protected by justice, but must protect himself, and should not be surprised when the stronger one triumphs. But Albania is, unfortunately, that village of oppressors that does not want a guide. Without leaving the jurisdiction, the properties and assets of the Ministry where former minister Prifti worked, and later denounced, have seen many scandals, over which justice, even without a penitent, if it wanted to fulfill its constitutional duty, should have already begun investigations and held officials accountable. It is enough to look at the devastation caused by the “inspectors” of Metrology in everything related to businesses and consumers; the leaders of KESH with the crisis looming, when a year earlier they flooded thousands of people and were after the billions of kilowatt-hours they would sell; for the factories they sold as scrap for a few lek, as if they were not the people’s wealth, but their fathers’. These and others like them are our village, which does not want a guide, but justice.
