Abuses with Independence: Basha’s brother-in-law wins the millions for Tirana’s decorations. He opened the firm “Orange” a month ago
EXCLUSIVE/ The partner of Erjon Isufaj and the girl who ran the mayor’s campaign are shareholders
News
The millions spent on decorating Tirana for the Independence and Liberation holidays ended up in the pockets of people close to Mayor Lulzim Basha and those who organized his election campaign. This abuse scandal appears also to involve Basha’s brother-in-law, Erjon Isufaj.

The millions spent decorating Tirana for Independence Day on 28 November, and probably also the decorations to be made for the New Year, Lulzim Basha entrusted to only one person: Erjon Isufaj, who is the mayor’s brother-in-law.
Shqiptarja.com has found documents proving that the mayor’s brother-in-law’s partner, and the girl who organized the entire election campaign, Odeta Malaj, opened a firm called “Orange Advertising” only a few days ago. According to the National Registration Center document, the firm “Orange” was opened only one month ago, and it is very strange that among the many companies that could compete to win the tender for decorating and beautifying the city, it was won by a company only a few days old.

However, the firm “Orange” seems to have been opened for this purpose alone. According to the document held by shqiptarja.com, in the National Business Registration Center (QKR) register, the firm was founded on 13 October 2011 and registered with QKR on 18 October 2011. So this advertising company was created only a few days before winning the tender worth millions of lek for the decoration of Tirana, a decoration which...

100 years of state or power?
28 November marks the entry into the 100th year of the Albanian state. A century of statehood is a lot for a small country that came out of five centuries of Ottoman occupation, but little for a European state that existed five centuries earlier as well. In any case, the centenary deserves to be remembered and honored. Everything began on 28 November 1912 in the Assembly of Vlora and came to life in January 1920 at the Congress of Lushnja. Since then we have experimented with 6 months of the reign of Wied, 6 years under the occupation of several regional powers, 3 years of a democratic competition system, another 3 years of a presidential republic, 11 years of an Albanian monarchy, 5 years of Italian and German occupation, 46 years of a communist dictatorial system and only 20 years of a democratic competition system. In total only 23-24 years of democracy versus 3-5 more years of dictatorship, authoritarian regimes or life under occupation.
...the party in power thinks the centenary should be celebrated by building new busts and monuments, a new parliament and a new football stadium...
At least four times the country came to the brink of civil war, three uprisings ended in an almost violent revolution, we expelled the European prince and the Albanian king from the country, forced them to emigrate or imprisoned and killed most of the founders of the Albanian state.
“The father of the nation” Ismail Qemali died in exile in Italy, his right-hand man Luigj Gurakuqi was expelled and killed in Italy, as was Hasan Prishtina in Greece, Prince Wied died in exile in Romania, Prime Minister Turhan Pasha died in exile in Italy, Fan Noli died in exile in the USA, King Zog died in exile in France, Mufti Frashëri and Abaz Kupi died in exile in the USA, we threw Gjergj Fishta’s grave into the river, we prevented Mother Teresa from burying her mother, Lef Nosi...

Ahmet Prençi: Nishani and I did not sign off on the prime minister’s nephew
TIRANA
The appointment of Dritan Berisha, the prime minister’s nephew (the son of Sali Berisha’s brother) as liaison officer in Rome, is strongly opposed by the former Interior Minister from the time when the proposal was made, almost two years ago, Bujar Nishani. The former Director General of the State Police, Ahmet Prençi, remembers very well the time when the proposal that Dritan Berisha be appointed liaison officer landed on his desk...
