“ALL THE INTRIGUES OF ISLAMI”
INTERVIEW/ The account of the former PS minister and former member of the LSI presidency “ALL THE INTRIGUES OF ISLAMI” Sabit Brokaj: The traps in the pink headquarters Why was the deregistration from the party delayed, what anti-party work did he do inside and outside the country against Rama, and why did he not want Meta’s rapprochement with the socialists News The former member of the PS presidency, a deputy in all legislatures and one of the ministers in the socialist government, Brokaj has leveled strong accusations against the newly deregistered deputy Islami, saying that he worked against the PS and also against this party’s coalition with the LSI ■■ TIRANA JAKIN MARENA The former member of the PS presidency, and at the same time former Minister of Defense in the socialist government, Sabit Brokaj believes that the deregistration of deputy Kastriot Islami from the PS parliamentary group was perhaps done very late, since for a long time he had been moving in the opposite direction of the PS project and strategy. Brokaj did not fail to describe Islami as the biggest intriguer of the Socialist Party, a job he has been engaged in since its founding, bringing “victims” among the ranks of the largest opposition party, but also conflicts during the time it was in power, as well as reducing its chances for coalitions and for achieving political solidarity within the Socialist Party itself and the Albanian left. “I think a formal aspect was completed, because Islami had for a long time been conveying nothing in the direction of the PS. A coffee with Berisha BY ANILA BASHA
This year is ending as a year of very special communication between me and the prime minister of my country. Unintentionally, with humorous notes of the kind only the doctor has recently been able to make.
Look, they told me that at a government meeting, about two weeks ago, he had declared that Helena Kadare got the award for best writer for no reason. And if the Book Fair had not closed, the prime minister would have given the prize to Anila Basha, as best publisher (meaning the publication of Minister Olldashi’s erotic poetry). Finding myself in such a position of ongoing dialogue, yesterday I set out to have a coffee with the prime minister. Me - Mr. Prime Minister, I suppose you have time... He - Come, Anila, come. When will you publish the next document? Me - Mr. Prime Minister, shqiptarja.com will always publish documents, because we have been active with news all this time. But today, since we are also on the eve of the holidays and, as always, you do not fail to thank the media for their contribution during the year, I will stop at something else that caught my attention. In the last two days there have been two important journalistic events: there was the launch of Fevziu’s book, a warm ceremony at the Arts Gallery. No minister or prime minister, directors or deputies, from Albania and Kosovo, was missing from that event. And rightly so. You may say, what business is it of mine as prime minister? I had an invitation, and I went. Yes, yes, agreed, it’s me... ...a democratic, open, loyal, visionary, creative, energetic, hyper-energetic PD like you cannot have this spirit of self-censorship continues on page 3
