Editorial BY ARBEN RROZHIANI Injustice as a boomerang The General Prosecutor's Office yesterday exposed a clear corrupt affair involving a group of people who wanted to buy a court ruling, but it failed not because Albania has justice, but because both the buyers and the sellers of justice realized that their deal had been discovered by a third party, blowing up their plans. This new case may later be revived and redone exactly as those who tried to give and those who tried to take the money wanted. This is one case. But only one. Hundreds of others have been going on for years right under the nose of Albanian justice, calmly, without anyone batting an eye, because they have made injustice expensive, bribing judges at all levels, at all prices, for every kind of case. From murders to trafficking. For years they have ensured the security of this country, which, as recent events show, is a chain of crimes, where the criminals are familiar names who have broken down the doors of courts and are killing innocent people day and night in order to remain free and untouchable. Nothing is more shocking than the interior minister's account last night on “Opinion” that the state authorities knew who, how, when and where those who took Megi Jakiçi's life were, and that the failed assassination attempt last night in Kombinat was a continuation of that shocking event at “Komuna e Parisit”. The government knows what is happening and who is doing it, who is killing today and who will kill tomorrow. But it does not want to and cannot do anything. It has itself set the example of how murderers, thieves and abusers, in dozens of cases, thanks to immunity and the buying of judges and the passing of deadlines, can overturn every accusation, even seize undeserved power. To arrive today at this point, where bought injustice turns back like a boomerang, not where it should fall, but onto Megi, onto us, victims of injustice.
