That must really be the case, since everywhere we feel harshness and yet we still go on calmly with our daily routine; we hear deafening noises and never stop; we face problems and everywhere we must push ourselves and strain our nerves; for every illness they tell us that the main cause is stress and we believe it and take the same medicines; wherever I walk I arrive dirty with soot, gray in color, and yet we keep taking the same road that disappears into an endless tunnel. We wake up in the morning. In fact, we should be starting a new day, but in the evening we get confused as to whether we were yesterday or whether we are today. The same routine. The same empty debates. The same big and small problems. The same tactics for difficult and awkward solutions, the same dirty politics, the same fairy tales with wolves and monsters and, apparently, the same outcomes. I say apparently, because everything that ends today is actually a beginning for the new day tomorrow. Nothing is created out of nothing in the blink of an eye. And here lies the answer to the question whose answer we have not yet found. But why do we live like this, anyway? Are we the only ones? How much longer will this transition of ours last? Have we really chosen this reality? If so, then we have no reason to complain. If it is others who are imposing it on us, then it is up to us to set every muscle in motion, to ignite every motor ► Continued on page 5

Ali Evsen, the Turkish businessman with an Albanian passport, was Prime Minister Berisha’s companion during his visit to Azerbaijan.
Evsen, 50, was arrested in June 2011 in Spain for money laundering on behalf of the Egyptian businessman Hussein Salem, a friend of Egypt’s former president Hosni Mubarak.
