Leaders of the Albanian administration, despite the European Commission’s request for a non-political administration, have made donations to the ruling party. Tax directors and customs officers, education directors, lawyers and patent officials, as well as representatives of the judiciary are among the financiers.

Culturally toward the EU

“Responsibility begins with a dream.” With this definition by William Butler Yeats I would like to begin my analysis of the role of art and culture in raising national consciousness, the role of artists and culture-makers as thinkers and correctors of society, the deepening of international dialogue, as well as the weight they must bear in the country’s European integration process. The popular saying “a dream costs nothing” in my opinion can have catastrophic consequences for the person himself and perhaps for an entire people, if that person holds a decision-making position. This is simply because irresponsible people and dreams go together irresponsibly, and if this person has a decision-making position then the implementation of these dreams in reality has consequences for all humanity.
In our times, when the means of communication make the building of bridges possible and when the country is focused on Brussels and its European future, seeing a dream as if it were Saladin or someone else would have terrible consequences for the country’s strategic and geopolitical orientation, directing it no longer toward Vienna, Berlin and Brussels, but toward Damascus and perhaps even farther.
