Comment BY PANDELI MAJKO Here is how you honored Ahmet Zogu For two days now, in the press I have been reading my story as a “Zogist”... Everyone who knows me, both openly and Zogists, know that I am not like that! What I regret is that this debate is coming within the logic of the current prime minister’s game with the history of Albania and Albanians. This debate began with my statement that the departure of King Zog from Albania was a legal act that formalized the occupation of Albania... The irony is that this was simply a repetition of what I had said before! It seems that we are in a “ré” situation...! After that I saw that, according to some, with this statement I had come out in defense of a traitor, thief, murderer and who knows what else... As if that were not enough, Prime Minister Berisha declared that he “regretted that I might become a ‘sacrifice’ of the monarchy”?! In our country, mistakes are repeated because there is no historical memory built on clear principles. What has happened is “kocrnaja” and the construction of one-sided truths, which produce the misuse of politics over facts and history. I am not a historian! But I know that the Democratic Party began its journey as “Noliste”... A bust of the patriot bishop Fan Noli was also placed, for this reason, between the building of the Academy of Sciences.
