The police’s sudden action came after Gjergj Ndreca visited the strike tent. TIRANE Anxhela Tato A completely unexpected police operation last night led to the arrest of citizen Asllan Patrioti, who is also the coordinator of the hunger strike of former politically persecuted people. Asllan Patrioti was speaking in the studio of a television channel as a guest on a program, but on the way several officers from Police Station No. 4 stopped him and escorted him to the station. Comment BY ALBI GREVA* Fridis needs you too It was December 14, 2009 when parents Marsida and Meti rejoiced at the arrival of Fridis into the world. They held him in their arms, kissed him, caressed him and took care of him, without knowing or understanding his health problem, without knowing that he was suffering, even though he was a baby who could not speak about it. The frequent crying or unexplained fussiness in the days, weeks and first months of his life had a major cause. “We had first noticed a strange deviation in one eye” - the parents say, who began consultations with specialist doctors. They did not yet know that this was the beginning of a big battle. “Fridis has to face a tumor in both of his little eyes” - was the heavy sentence uttered by the doctor. It is a very rare disease (1 case in 30,000 children born). Between pain and tears, with the big dilemma of whether they would ever be able to emerge stronger than the disease, the parents never stopped trying. A journey to Turkey began.
