In memoriam BY Rrapo DANUSHI Lirak Bejko, the human torch On behalf of the owners expropriated by the communist dictatorship, we express our heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, friends and comrades of the late Lirak Bejko. All political prisoners and those expropriated by the dictatorship, who for 20 years have been trampled by irresponsible politicians, send their respects to Lirak Bejko, who became a human torch for freedom and democracy. Lirak sacrificed himself in order to make the irresponsible political class aware of the fact that 20 years have passed and we still do not have a state in the sense of a rule-of-law and democratic state. The tragedy of Lirak and his fellow sufferers began with imprisonment during the communist dictatorship, but from 1991 to 2012 the trampling on them has continued in order to obtain the compensation provided by law. The state has in its respective archives all the documents of the political prisoners, as well as the documents of communist expropriation which are valid for returning the property to its rightful owner, but both the prisoners and the owners continue to be trampled. Distinguishing the politicians who enrich themselves from the people who are killed and suffer, Albania in 2012 cannot be called a democracy, much less be taken as a model of democracy; because in these 20 years both wings of politics have fought for votes, for... continues on page 22
