News
According to sources close to the prosecutor’s office, after reviewing the findings of the FBI expert analysis, four arrest warrants have been prepared and are expected to be sent to the court and then executed. These involve three members of the Republican Guard and one member of the Prime Minister’s administration.
TIRANA
It is expected that by this morning the comparison and matching of the FBI expert analysis with the Albanian one, carried out earlier by the State Police, will have been completed. According to sources from the investigative group, it has been discovered that from the two pistols examined, the killers of Aleks Nika and Faik Myrtaj may also be identified. Meanwhile, the arrest of a Prime Minister’s Office employee is also expected; he intervened in the server, first cloned the footage and then deleted all recordings of the event on the night of January 21, 2011. Also, according to the sources, the investigation is expected to begin against the experts of the Ministry of Interior, who concluded that the 7 bullets, casings and the 2 pistols of the guards with which Aleks Nika and Faik Myrtaj were killed “cannot be examined, because they were damaged.”
The analysis of the 2 pistols belonging to two officers of the Republican Guard, this time carried out by the world’s most specialized laboratory, the FBI, appears set to break the deadlock in the investigation by leading the prosecutor’s office to make new arrests. These involve the heads of the Republican Guard, the... continues on page 6

60th anniversary of Tefta Radi
Commentary
BY ANILA BASHA
60th anniversary of Tefta Radi
When she first entered the offices of Albanian Radio Television and shyly opened the news microphone to present the bulletins, Tefta Radi could never have imagined that she would celebrate her 60th anniversary among friends, journalists and artists in the hall of the house of Albanians in Tirana. The “Nermin Vlora Falaschi” Foundation organized the conference for the woman journalist, considering it also an important event in the year of the 100th anniversary of the country’s independence.
Tefta Radi, among flowers and emotions, was there not to bow her head, but as someone regarded as an icon of Albanian public television. Unfortunately, in fact, in the hall packed with journalists and artists, not a single one of the leaders of Albanian Public Television was present, even though Ms. Radi has been there since 1979. But there were many journalists from the television who had come to this event, as well as many other journalists from various media outlets in the country. Since that year, she has never been apart from it, in her journey from Radio to Television. On this 60th anniversary, many things were said about Ms. Radi: an icon of Albanian public television; the woman with a pure Albanian language, who conveyed the news rather than acting for viewers of the small screen; an institution in her own right within Albanian public television, as Iva Tare described her. But above all, a medal of gratitude from the “Nermin Vlora” foundation, a medal presented to her by the foundation’s vice president, the artist Inka Kurti.
