Editorial by a citizen BY Bujar CANI* Who is killing Bulqiza every day On the website of the newspaper Shqiptarja.com, in the Report It Yourself section, open to ordinary citizens who become witnesses to events throughout Albania, but also anywhere in the world, we selected this letter by Bujar Cani, a citizen born and raised in Bulqiza, who has decided not to remain indifferent while seeing the destruction of his hometown. He sent us this article, which we are publishing, together with the photo also taken by him. A few days ago we published the letter of an ordinary police officer at a police station in Albania, who denounced the scandalous theft carried out by officials in police stations through material resources. These thefts were also identified by the SHKB, but were kept hidden because of political favoritism. The police officer's letter reached the highest number of clicks on the web. The Shqiptarja.com editorial office sent that full letter to the Minister of Interior Bujar Nishani, from whom we are still awaiting a response. I am writing about Bulqiza, my hometown, the city that once had a name, had fame, had one of the largest chrome mines in the world both in size and in chrome production, so without being a sick nostalgic, a city that was somebody. I remember my childhood years, around 1961-1976, when the city had about 3,000 inhabitants, a city where life buzzed despite its problems, it was full of life, a city filled with children and young people, with eight-year schools and a secondary school with three tracks: gymnasium, mining-geology-agriculture, with kindergartens, nurseries and workers. An intellectual city too, with engineers, geologists, builders, doctors, teachers, agronomists, officers, with many sports activities, with a football and wrestling team, with cultural and sports activities, a city that was all working and not only the city of Bulqiza, but also...
