Blend into a joyful greeting! - KORÇË - They were being distributed. Could it have been otherwise? Could the night of the New Year’s transition have come in any other way? A large part of the city of Korça found dawn in a work position. As always, although only a few hours before 31 December began, not only those scheduled in the monthly roster had gone on the third shift, but many, many others as well. Thus the people of the food industry welcomed the New Year. Thus the day took shape for the workers of the furniture enterprise. And while a shared wish for the good of all, for prosperity and joy for each person and, for the whole Albanian family, accompanied the arrival of 1990, many workers spent the last night of 1989 beside the machines and workshops. For a completely different time and scale were Vlora and Valona, Durrës, Elbasan, Tirana, Shkodra and other cities and towns. Words of greeting and joy passed through every workplace. The first rays of this first morning of 1990 were seen in the streets, on trains, in factories and combines, in fields and livestock farms. - PËRMET - In every aspect, in well-being, we see 1990. There, the peaks are there, and of course that simple worker in the agricultural products processing enterprise also had them in mind, who this night, like many others, welcomed the New Year at his workplace. Added to the achievements already completed for the past, good for the future as well. Good for the whole family. Good for the country. - DURRËS - There are hundreds upon hundreds of families and relatives who rejoiced on this night and felt content as they saw the large number of workers in every enterprise, in ports and on construction sites. The workers of the port, the railway, the merchant fleet, the factories and the farms and cooperatives are among those who began 1990 with dedication to work. - SHKODËR - The voice of work and joy has been everywhere. Workers, specialists, managers of the economy and institutions were on duty and in productive activity. Dedication, discipline, readiness — this was the first image of the new day. - ELBASAN - Today, 1 January, the comrades went to work as on an ordinary day, but with the joy of the New Year and with the responsibility of a person who begins the year with work. In many workshops and factories, greetings were exchanged beside the machines. - KUKËS - (our correspondent) Sent into the sunlight of this 1 January, this mountain city experiences the calm and pride of ordinary people. Here, in every sector and workplace, readiness for the tasks of the first days of 1990 is not lacking. - NICOLLË LESI - Today, 1 January. Everywhere, comrade Luigj Hasan, the first secretary of the district PPSH Committee, could be found among the workers. He was at the electrical substation of the NB in Maliq. The latter has recently been joined by a new enterprise that has started 1990 well. And in the “Dinamo” factory he was in the electric toy workshop. The workers felt happy and proud. Convinced and clear about the tasks ahead. Workers in factories and combines, in agricultural cooperatives and farms, on railways and in mines, in ports and service centers, began 1990 with work, with thoughts for the future and with a shared wish for the prosperity of the socialist Fatherland. - PËRMET - In every aspect, in well-being, we see 1990. A student feels the joy of the New Year more than anyone else. How could he not feel it? How could he not experience it differently? Yesterday all the children went to school with the desire to learn and to show that the first day of the year is also a good day of work. In many classes, teachers and students took stock of the results of the first period and set new tasks for the months ahead.

- SHKODËR - Zer. Amuli[?] In the last twelve minutes as well as in the first hours of 1 January, hundreds upon hundreds of Shkodër workers and cooperativists were in production. Dedication to duty characterized the city and the countryside. In the workshops of the Textile Combine, the workers on the third shift did not interrupt the pace of work. The same was true in the timber enterprise, in the service sectors and on the agricultural farms. Everyone with one wish: may the new year bring even better results.

- LEZHË - (our correspondent) Today, 1 January, we found comrade Luigj Hasan, the first secretary of the PPSH Committee of the district, in a warm meeting with workers. In many work collectives, the first day of 1990 was no different from ordinary days: no one left the workplace, no one slowed down. In such an environment, the New Year greeting took on a fuller meaning. In the factory workshops, in the cooperative centers, in transport and in services, people welcomed the New Year with duty and optimism. NICOLLË LESI

- GJIROKASTËR - The picture was clear. Workers and many young men and women, specialists and cadres, were on duty from the first hours of the first day of the year. Everywhere, the vitality of an environment that begins every step with work could be felt. In the factory, on the farm, on the road and in services, the greeting took on meaning through action. - Vlorë - They gathered and were welcomed with greetings. The first day of the year has brought scenes of work and movement to the coastal city.
