THERE ARE WEAKNESSES IN SUPPLY AND TRANSPORT

THE GEAR STONE HAS STARTED The reason is old and well known: failure to meet obligations in supply and transport. This is being felt in many workplaces and is causing obstacles in the work process. In many cases this is also accompanied by poor work organization, lack of discipline, and other shortcomings. In some enterprises measures have been taken, but they still are not producing the expected results. Workers and management bodies are demanding that the supply of raw materials, spare parts and transport means be more regular. Without this there can be no normal pace of production. In some cases, the lack of coordination between supply organizations and production organizations has led to work stoppages. There are delays in deliveries, shortages in warehouses and cases where transport vehicles are not being used as they should. These phenomena are directly affecting the fulfillment of plans. In various meetings it has been requested that each entity bear its own responsibility. Municipal and regional bodies must follow the situation in the field more accurately and intervene where difficulties arise. Only with more organized work and greater responsibility can the current weaknesses be overcome. (To be continued on page 5)

THE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH WE WORK AND LIVE EXPRESSES CULTURE

5 months after a valuable campaign The environment in which we work and live is an expression of our everyday culture and of our care for order, cleanliness and discipline. The campaign launched five months ago has produced certain results, but not everywhere and not in the same way. In some neighborhoods, streets and courtyards have been noticeably improved, rubbish has been removed, and better conditions for life and work have been created. However, in not a few cases shortcomings are observed: unclean places, improvised dumps, damage to greenery and neglect of shared space. This shows that the campaign must not remain a temporary initiative, but must be transformed into a permanent civic habit. This requires the commitment of institutions, social organizations and the citizens themselves. Environmental culture is measured by everyday actions. Every neighborhood, every street and every enterprise must have its own responsible persons and constant supervision. Only in this way will the environment in which we work and live be a reflection of our culture. (To be continued on page 2)

Negligence is observed

Things are damaged and repaired quickly in the maintenance of some facilities and equipment, even when the damage is minor and can be repaired quickly. Instead of intervening in time, it is often waited until the damage becomes worse, causing greater expenses and obstacles in work. This phenomenon has been observed in some environments where regular control and concrete responsibility are lacking. Workers complain that even simple repairs take days, although the tools and means exist. A faster response from the relevant services and greater care in the use of equipment is being requested. Children celebrated June 1 with joy

In a cheerful atmosphere, children marked International Children's Day. Cultural programs, games and varied events were organized in schools, kindergartens and various centers. The children's joy and the adults' care gave this day a special tone. In many places symbolic gifts were distributed and educational and recreational activities were organized. The need was emphasized for care for children not to be limited to just one day of the year, but to be part of everyday social commitment. In this spirit, there was also discussion of the living, educational and health conditions of children, as well as the obligations of institutions and the family toward the younger generation.
