Breaking free from old ways of thinking — GRAMSH — The governing committee of the Socialist Party of the Gramsh district met in recent days to discuss how to bring the new spirit of the 10th Congress to every grassroots organization, to each of its members and supporters. Participants came to the meeting bringing with them the views of most of the members they represent, gathered through informal conversations. What is the general picture after the congress? Most members of the Socialist Party in the Gramsh district, convinced of the historic importance of this congress, are trying to free themselves from everything old, as harmful to the new pluralist situation created in our country. But there are also conservatives. The difference between the former and the latter has nothing to do with their age. I say this because some, although young, are unable to rid themselves of the old baggage. At the meeting of the governing committee, the discussion by pensioner Besim Mehmeti stood out. He saw liberation from the mentality of the past as the peace of a democrat’s soul, as a sign that democracy is present in the party. Comrades Xhevit Dermyshi, Fidai Bora, and others spoke similarly. The general picture here showed that, regardless of age, those who understand the demands of the times agree with the motto of this congress, which closed the era of one political force, the PPSH, and opened the era of the Socialist Party. The latter has not been properly understood in all the Party’s grassroots organizations. A series of meetings with people in villages and towns have served to deepen understanding of the duties and ideas of the 10th Congress and of the Socialist Party’s program and prospects.
