LET US BOLDLY FORESEE THE GREAT DEVIATIONS THAT LIE IN WAIT FOR US
Political struggle in these conditions, as well as throughout the recent period, requires a high level of moral and civic responsibility. It calls for a new understanding of the role of the opposition and the majority, of dialogue and compromise, of the state and the law, of the relationship between freedom and responsibility.
Under today’s conditions, when the country is experiencing major economic and social difficulties, every political force must avoid adventure, the incitement of chaos, and the use of tension as a means of pressure. We need calm, prudence, and a clear vision for the future.
The present crisis cannot be overcome with slogans. It requires work, sacrifice, and above all political honesty. Citizens want to hear the truth and to see concrete actions.
Any deviation from this path would be dangerous for the new Albanian democracy. For this reason, courage is needed to defend institutions, to strengthen the rule of law, and to place the national interest above immediate gains.
Albania needs a broad civic agreement, trust, and cooperation. Only in this way can we successfully face the trials ahead.
Statement by the spokesperson of the Socialist Party
— Is it Mr. Haxhi Lleshi? or Mr. Mejdani —
Right at the beginning of his statement, Mr. Haxhi Lleshi considers the new government and its cabinet unreasonable. He expresses these views at a time when this government has not yet begun work, and when our country is going through one of the most difficult periods in its history. We cannot fail to note that this declaration has an overly political tone and is contrary to the spirit of national understanding.
The Socialist Party of Albania is determined to support the government of stability, to create conditions for dialogue and for overcoming the severe economic and social crisis. Attempts to encourage division and mistrust at such a time do not serve the country.
We consider it essential that political forces show responsibility and self-restraint. Albanians are waiting for solutions, not accusations. They are waiting for work, not words.
The Socialist Party will continue to be open to cooperation with all forces that put the interests of the country above narrow political interests.
Our time is no longer ours
[?] for [ ? ]
In [ ? ] these days, when Albania is facing a comprehensive crisis, time no longer belongs to anyone in particular. It belongs to the people’s hardships, to their wait for bread, work, light, and peace.
It is pointless to waste this time on fruitless quarrels and rhetorical clashes. The country needs wise decisions and responsible administration.
If politics does not feel the painful rhythm of everyday life, it risks remaining alien to the citizen. And when the citizen turns away from politics, democracy weakens.
Therefore, our time must become a time of work, responsibility, and hope.
Not party against party, but face to face among the people
The hearing of the Socialist Party
By ÇIKA
These are the first days of 1992, difficult days for our country. In this climate of uncertainty and hope, the Socialist Party is called upon to demonstrate prudence, realism, and closeness to the people.
It is not a time for complacency or rhetoric. It is a time to listen to the citizen, to understand his needs, and to build a new political relationship, freed from old patterns.
The party must be among the people, in their daily concerns, in neighborhoods, in the countryside and in the cities, in enterprises and in schools. It must listen and learn, not just speak.
Only in this way can the lost trust be regained and a new democratic culture created.

Perhaps work will be done properly
ECONOMY: the hope of democracy
Heavy industry of [ ? ], but where should the work begin?
As the critical voices and polemics have increased, it has become even clearer that the economy remains the decisive test for the new government. Without work, without production, and without normal market supply, no political stability can last.
It is time for enterprises to emerge from stagnation, for managers to take responsibility, and for workers to feel that their efforts are not in vain.
The hope of democracy is the economy, because every political promise is tested there. Citizens will judge change not by words, but by bread, energy, transport, and wages.
Work must begin immediately, with a clear and realistic program.
