THE HOLDING OF FATOS NANO HOSTAGE AND STATE TERROR IN THE LOCAL ELECTIONS - CLEAR ELEMENTS OF THE NEO-COMMUNIST SUPPRESSION OF PLURALISM

On the road of sun-imigjioze, the head of the majority, with moral anguish and a xenophobic spirit, has taken first place in the top list of Albanian absurdocracy. Instead of serious reflection on the state of the country and political normalization, he is further fueling a climate of conflict and fear. After failing to stop the opposition by political means, other forms of pressure are being used. The attitude toward Fatos Nano, his holding as a hostage, and the instrumentalization of state institutions for party purposes, constitute an alarming signal for the future of pluralism. The local elections are taking place under the shadow of state terror, with a politicized administration, pressure on citizens, and attempts to distort the free will of voters. Instead of fair competition, the language of blackmail and political revenge dominates. Under these conditions, the defense of pluralism, political freedoms, and civic dignity remains the duty of every democrat. Albania cannot move forward with the logic of imprisoning the opponent and manipulated elections. (continued on page 2)

What would be the consequence for this country and Greece? the government's wrong course hides behind them?

If this wrong course continues further, the consequences will weigh on bilateral relations and on ordinary citizens. Any unnecessary tension feeds nationalism and hinders the normal integration of the region. Dialogue and mutual respect are the only way to avoid misunderstandings and build lasting trust.

Why doesn't PD return the coffee to the PS? What would be the consequence of not publishing the statement with the PS?

Clashes between the majority and the opposition are taking increasingly absurd forms. Instead of a public confrontation with arguments, selective silence, censorship, and avoidance of debate are being used. This stance damages the democratic climate and undermines the minimum standards of political communication in the country. (continued on page 2)
