It is not the Socialist Party, but others who have been involved in buying and selling and in taking leave of their senses, forgetting the national interest

- 80 million drachmas - like Damocles’ sword over the head of the Democratic Party Yes. When you govern with the parties of the world, the nation loses. We have all now understood that, according to the hysterical propaganda of the people around Sali and their tools, the socialists have been, and are, collaborators, traitors, profiteers, agents of black propaganda, anti-Americans, anti-integration, anti-democracy, etc., etc. And, in support of this anti-historical and anti-national propaganda by the little “PD” tools, they do everything they can to conceal the shocking truths that are emerging one by one. These truths prove that those who can barely sleep from the anxiety of losing power have sunk head and feet into anti-national and anti-popular actions, which will cost Albania and Albanians dearly. Contrary to what is being trumpeted, it is not the socialists who are “selling out Greece,” but precisely the current rulers who for days have been engaged in shady deals. And the strange thing is that those who until yesterday shouted about national betrayal are now silent in the face of concrete facts that are coming to light. The money, as various sources write, has not entered through normal state channels, but through suspicious channels, for narrow political interests. These 80 million drachmas have become the symbol of a dirty deal, a kind of Damocles’ sword over the head of the Democratic Party, which fears not only the popular reaction but also the full exposure of the affair. No one can buy the silence of the people with money. Nor the national interest. Nor freedom of speech. Therefore, the more they try to throw mud at the opposition, the more their own links and deals come to light. And this is precisely where the greatest hypocrisy lies: those who accuse are the ones who are trading. (continued on page 2)

THE CONSTITUTION ON THE AGENDA

What do the political parties say? NAIM KOKOMLE, “Interview” of the daily of the socialists: “The Parliament or the Constituent Assembly elected by the people” Contrary to the many claims being made about the constitution, which is presented as a mere technical act, the issue is deeply political. The constitution is not just a collection of legal articles, but the fundamental contract of a country’s life. That is why the way it is drafted, who approves it, and in whose name, is of decisive importance. If the constitution is to emerge from a random parliamentary majority, without being based on a direct popular mandate, it risks not being accepted as the country’s true fundamental law. This is why many call either for a parliament with a special constitutional mandate, or for a Constituent Assembly elected by the people. In this sense, the experience of other countries shows that the legitimacy of the constitution stems from broad participation and consensus, not from the imposition of numbers. Otherwise, we will have not a stable constitution, but a text that will be continually contested. From this point of view, the issue is not “how fast” but “how rightly.” The constitution must belong to everyone, not to a temporary majority. (continued on page 2)

Vasil Melo, chairman of the Democratic Alliance:

“Any solution outside Parliament would be a step backward” On the constitutional issue, Mr. Melo says that the solution should be sought through institutional channels and that Parliament remains the natural place where parties should confront their alternatives. According to him, avoiding this path would bring unnecessary political consequences and a kind of step backward in the country’s democratic life. He emphasizes that even when there are strong disagreements, institutions exist precisely to deal with them. From this point of view, going outside Parliament would mean weakening the democratic process itself. (continued on page 2)

Neritan Ceka, president of the Democratic Alliance:

“The constitution should express the will of the people” In his assessment, Mr. Ceka emphasizes that the constitution cannot be the product of narrow political agreements alone, but must represent the broadest possible civic will. He calls for a more inclusive and transparent process so that the constitutional text can gain moral and political authority. According to him, without this support, any legal formula remains fragile and open to challenge. (continued on page 2)

Citizens of Elbasan consuming milk with tuberculosis bacteria!

Various notices and complaints speak of the danger posed by the distribution of uncontrolled milk, which may be a source of serious diseases. In Elbasan, concern has grown over the lack of veterinary control and the placing on the market of products that have not undergone the necessary tests. The consumer is thus left unprotected, while the responsible institutions must intervene without delay. (continued on page 3)

The “Kubelie Mosque” was inaugurated in Durrës

Two days ago, in the center of Durrës, the inauguration of the new “Kubelie” mosque took place. The opening ceremony was attended by many believers, representatives of the Muslim community, and interested citizens. The return of a place of worship to an area with a civic tradition is seen as an event of special importance for the spiritual life of believers, but also for the city’s urban landscape itself. In the remarks made on the occasion, the need for religious tolerance and coexistence was emphasized. ARBEN VIKSMA (continued on page 8)
