Yesterday, through television, the public learned of the thuggish attacks by unidentified persons against Television journalists at Socialist Party meetings with the people in Sarandë and in Dushk, Lushnjë. Such actions violate freedom of the press and the status of journalists, and are condemned by the entire public of a democratic country. In circumstances where the present-day state does not ensure normal working conditions for journalists, it is the duty of members and sympathizers of the Socialist Party and of all true democrats to protect them from every kind of provocateur, so that they can carry out their honourable work normally. The Constitution is not made the way livestock collectivization was carried out, but by sitting down and discussing it at the tables of parliament - The Democratic Party uses as its argument paid groups of political hooligans under the protection of the law-enforcement forces. The people of Krutje defend public order from bandits with their own hands On the very day of Sali Berisha’s imposed march, Krutje tells Berisha’s strongmen “NO.” It says “NO” to Berisha’s force-and-regime; it says “NO” to the harsh dictatorship they are trying to establish in Albania. A long line of cars with Lushnjë plates, the vast majority belonging to residents of the commune, whose supporters we were, [unclear] Krutje. Just five days after Berisha’s visit there, an organized group led by the Lushnjë Police Station’s crime inspector roamed around the village for two whole hours, pressuring the villagers not to attend the rally. But, defying them and their self-proclaimed “free” President, Sali Berisha, dozens of Krutje residents had come out on both sides of the road leading to the commune centre to greet the deputies of their party. - In Frakull too, no to Berisha’s Constitution. Hundreds of residents of Frakull and the surrounding areas of Levan, Kafaraj and Sheq had come out to welcome the Vice-Chairman of the Socialist Party, Dr. Se[?]vet Pellumbi. Their enthusiasm was very great, reflecting their generous spirit and their support for the Socialist Party. “I am convinced that your voice will be heard by those who say that the Socialist Party has no support; it will also be heard by those who are keeping Fatos Nano in prison”—these were the words Servet Pellumbi addressed to them, as they responded with shouts: “Long live the Socialist Party! Long live Fatos Nano! No to Berisha!” Continuing, he said: “There has not been, and there is no, division within the ranks of the Socialist Party. The support you give us is not feigned; it comes from your wishes and convictions. We are convinced that on November 6 you will say No to Berisha’s draft Constitution.” - Berisha will not win in Fier - After Libofshë and Frakull, it was the people of Fier’s turn to say No to the Constitution. - THE PEOPLE BREAK THROUGH THE POLICE CORDON - VLORË The law-enforcement forces and local authorities tried every possible means to prevent the huge gathering of Vlora’s socialists. By every means, the people of Vlora stood up before the citizens and freed themselves from [unclear]. Around 4,000 people gathered in the square, including the leading figures of the Socialist Party, Servet Pellumbi, Vice-Chairman of the Socialist Party of Albania, Namik Dokle, Luan Hajdaraga, Ilir Meta, and MPs Sabit Baci, Vili Bufı, Ibrahim Baci and others. For about an hour, the socialists stood in front of the locked doors of the sports palace, chanting for the Socialist Party. - The third for the Democratic Party during the electoral campaign for the draft Constitution - As if to restore the Democratic Party’s lost honour during the campaign for the adoption of his draft Constitution, Democratic Party leader and President Sali Berisha made a visit to Korçë on Saturday afternoon, following Selami’s fiasco and Mekasi’s failure.
