PROTECT THE NEWSPAPER! On 28 September this year, the editorial staff of our newspaper officially protested against the order issued by the Presidium of the People’s Assembly to close the press gallery in the Parliament chamber, describing this arbitrary act as a major blow to the media and a serious violation of press freedom. On these issues we have received many letters and phone calls from our colleagues from various parts of the country, as well as from national institutions and public opinion. We share their concern and their demand for the reopening of the press gallery, so that no new obstacles are allowed to arise to informing the public and to protecting citizens’ right to become acquainted with the work of the Assembly.
