THE PD GOVERNMENT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ENERGY CRISIS

On 18 December, the people today remember a socialist buffet where bread was priced for people and they would pay 470 lek for bread from 125 lek, without even having it for their children. The Albanian people have remembered them as clowns, and this government, because it wanted to win votes for mass maneuvers from “socialism.” Declaration of the PS parliamentary group In the overall context of the economic crisis, the government of the Democratic Party bears a special responsibility for the current energy crisis. It has also blocked opportunities to improve electricity supply in several ways. First, by sidelining and putting out of use for four consecutive years the Fier thermal power plant. Second, by selling and squandering 23 thousand tons of fuel-oil reserves in the thermal power plants. Third, by ignoring and absurdly delaying payment for electricity imports from abroad. Fourth, because of the extremely serious condition of the electricity transmission network. Fifth, because of the lack of investment and the complete degradation of KESH. Today the country is experiencing a serious energy situation, which is causing consequences for production, for citizens' daily lives, and for the national economy. The PS parliamentary group emphasizes that this crisis is not the result of natural conditions, but of the government's inability, irresponsibility, and corruption. Faced with this situation, urgent concrete measures and political accountability are required. (Continued on page 5)
