Criminal proceedings requested against Prelë Martini
Mr. Martini is thinking about the villa he is building, not about the law
- For 52 days, the "Nano case file" has remained blocked by the President of the Court of Appeal
- Is he committing this abuse of office of his own free will or under orders from above?...
- We remind Prelë Martini that his unlawful act is punishable by up to 7 years in prison
Fatos Nano and the Socialist Party, supported by their ever-growing electorate, honest Albanians who truly love democracy, certainly do not place their hopes in the Prelës and Rustems of power, just as they do not place their hopes in all those people who are followed by the shadow of a past filled with sin and accompanied by files and all kinds of pseudonyms, who, although dried out like “DOKU” in the sun, are ready to do whatever the author of evil schemes dictates.

- American officials describe the talks as successful
- President Berisha promises the Americans additional military bases
Yesterday, Albanian President Sali Berisha met and held talks with US President Bill Clinton. On the American side, the talks were attended by Vice President Al Gore, Secretary of State Christopher, and other senior officials.
On the Albanian side, Deputy Prime Minister Vrioni and Foreign Minister Serreqi took part. American officials described the Clinton-Berisha talks as successful. After the talks ended, Clinton-Berisha, the Albanian president made a brief statement to the press.
He said: "I have just completed very important talks with President Clinton. We were extremely satisfied. The meeting was attended by Vice President Al Gore, Secretary of State Warren Christopher, the National Security Adviser, Anthony Lake, and in a meeting with US President Bill Clinton we discussed extensively Albanian-American relations, and we discussed the situation in the region.
I informed President Clinton about the achievements of the reforms. The American president assured me of strong and broad support from himself personally, from the government, and from US institutions for the renewal of the state, of the market economy in Albania, for the creation of a democratic space for Albanians wherever they are, and for strengthening comprehensive economic, political, and military cooperation between our two countries. We leave this meeting convinced that today a new page is opening in the very good friendly relations that exist between our two countries. And I am very pleased. I am also very grateful for the hospitality and for the invitation".
Later that same day, Berisha met with the chairman of the majority in the US Senate. Before the meeting with Clinton, Berisha laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington, Washington, where he was accompanied by the Albanian ambassador in Washington, Dilja, and the American ambassador in Tirana, Joseph Lake.
He also met and held talks with IMF Director Michel Camdessus. During yesterday's meetings with American officials, Berisha is also said to have promised the Americans the use of a number of additional Albanian military bases, which could be needed for NATO military operations in Bosnia.
