Socialists propose a 20 percent increase in wages and pensions

Parliament: 10 percent increase approved - Representatives of the Government and of the PD do not accept the budget calculations made by the socialists, nor the proposed economic paths that would guarantee a larger increase in wages and pensions. - The Government keeps a “reserve” of 1.6 billion lek (16 million dollars), even though this money should be spent on investment and on dealing with the consequences of the floods. - Government specialists do not answer how many lek have been spent on ministers’ trips abroad and on the purchase of luxury cars during these 3 years. Here is the economic path for the socialists: 1. Maintaining the budget deficit as forecast. 2. Meeting budget revenues. 3. Spending more on investment in the economy and on wages. 4. By cutting operating expenses, travel and per diem allowances for government officials, cutting spending for the police and SHIK, spending on tenders, on the purchase of all kinds of luxury vehicles, as well as spending on investments for ARN. Chronicle

With the questions that were raised about the unclear arguments for changes in the budget, the Government representatives found themselves “bombarded” because even the eye has been declared by the opposition. The PD, with the actions it undertakes, does not rely on the logic of facts, but on its passions to extend the length of its stay in power. Deputy Anastas Angjeli asked for explanations about the eight-month revenue figures, the failure to meet customs revenues and citizens’ assets revenues, the external debt problems, etc. For the chairman of the Parliamentary Group, Namik Dokle, the contradictory figures on government spending, both at home and abroad, should have been returned to parliament, but it was difficult for the Government representative to give an answer. Then Deputy Angjeli put forward the argument that workers’ wages should increase not by 10, but by 20 percent, presenting concrete figures to the deputies on the financial source. The draft law was approved by a majority vote. The draft law “On an amendment to the Law on Sponsorships” was then also discussed, but the deputies considered it reasonable for it to be returned to the government for further improvements.
