Albanians drown at sea, Berisha gives lectures on genocide
Berisha:
"The anti-genocide
law is a
cultural issue"
"The sea tragedy will
continue"
"The elections will be
held in May", when the
lights have been fixed,
but "as long as the water
hasn't gone away".

A very late response!...
Today at the Presidency: Berisha at a round table with representatives of the political parties.
At 1 p.m. today, President of the Republic Sali Berisha will hold a round table with representatives of the political parties. It is simply too late.
As has been announced, 13 Albanian political parties signed a joint declaration on 9 October 1995 calling for the essence of the existing electoral law not to be changed. However, the PD and Berisha did not sign the declaration. In fact, its representatives walked out of the meeting.
Not only the Socialist Party, but also other parties have repeatedly asked Berisha for a round table to discuss and jointly decide on the country’s major problems, especially the solution of the national issue, but he has never responded positively. The presidential conduct has always reflected a kind of tribal megalomania, which has not passed without consequences. When expressing disapproval, they did not take into account only the London meeting, for which it certainly cannot be.
But for convenience the fact that it has approached it will have their time to be judged, amid all the reflections of today’s meeting. To do useful work for the good of the country and its progress, in the right fields, honest steps on the road to democracy are never too late. Has Berisha perhaps understood this? Judging from yesterday’s press conference we must answer: NO.
Then what will today’s round table between President Berisha and the representatives of the political parties bring us? Let us see. We only hope that it will not be demagoguery and that it will not serve for RD and the state media to say: "These initiatives of President Berisha led to a round table"
Because the initiative had long been that of others. On 9 October, 13 political parties signed a joint declaration. Today, after almost 2 months, Berisha responds very late.

National Activ of the Socialist Party on agriculture
The agrarian policy pursued during this period can be characterized as a policy full of contradictions in the field of privatization, which have directly reflected the political groupings that have acted and are acting within the parties of the governing coalition
