Deputy Chairman of the Socialist Party, Servet Pëllumbi, received the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Ibrahim Rugova Today at the headquarters of the Socialist Party, the deputy chairman of this party, Prof. Servet Pëllumbi, held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova. During this meeting, the head of the Kosovar delegation informed Prof. Pëllumbi about the activities and positions of the LDK and other institutions of the Republic of Kosovo regarding the solution of the Albanian question in Kosovo and in the former Yugoslavia, as well as the latest developments in the country. The LDK and the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Rugova said, fully support the democratic and Euro-Atlantic integration of Albania, despite the serious problems our country is going through today. On behalf of the Socialist Party, Mr. Servet Pëllumbi expressed to Dr. Rugova his high regard for the reasonable and firm stance of the LDK and the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo in refusing to fall for the provocations of nationalist and anti-Albanian circles that seek to destabilize Albania and the region. After stressing that the true opposition in Albania is committed to defending freedoms and human rights and the fundamental democratic principles, Mr. Servet Pëllumbi praised the just and peaceful struggle of the LDK and the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and expressed his conviction that, with the help of the international factor, the legitimate aspirations of the people of Kosovo for freedom, independence, and democracy will be realized. Meanwhile, as reported in economic circles, the former governor of the Bank of Albania, Lir Hoxha, has not only not returned to banking activity, but has been demonstratively arrested. Many ask: why now and not earlier? And who betrayed him after returning from America? From various sources, there has been talk of suspicious ties with financial circles, of unresolved files, and of responsibilities that go beyond one individual. At the center of attention remains the issue of the French lawyer and the procedures undertaken in the name of the Albanian state. What documents were actually signed? Who authorized the payments? New trade union organization Today, in the office of SHPSH, the deputy general secretary of this organization discussed with leaders of several trade unions the need to reorganize the trade union movement and to defend workers' rights more effectively. It was stressed that without stronger representation and without better coordination of trade union structures, employees remain unprotected in the face of economic difficulties and violations in labor relations.

The PS's deficits in the district of Vlorë are linked more to the diversionist tactics of the party's own center than to the terrorization of the local democratic environment by the PD government. - The activity of the "political bandits" inside and around the PS should remain calm in line with the decision of the PS Presidency and with the response they have received from the PS central structures. - The unscrupulous and diabolical actions of the PS as a pro-communist and anti-Western political force make it clear that Albania's public and democratic opinion rejects this political force. - Only individual figures from it, with contributions to change and belonging more to work than to political adventure, can be respected. - Meetings with comrades Gramoz Ruçi and Sabit Brokaj When the expanded session of activists of the Socialist Party organization in the city of Selenica began, the cultural hall was filled with hundreds of people. Citizens of different ages and professions came to take part in a meeting intended to further clarify the ways out of the difficult economic and social situation in the area. At the center of the discussions was Selenica's outlook, its natural resources, and the possibilities of putting them at the service of the residents. Those present spoke about the mine, employment, unemployment, and the need for investment. It was stressed that without serious state support and without a long-term development policy, the area cannot emerge from stagnation. The meeting was also attended by comrades Gramoz Ruçi and Sabit Brokaj, who pointed out that the Socialist Party will support any initiative that serves the development of Selenica and the well-being of its residents.
