In many regions there are no real employment opportunities and every family tries to survive on its own. In rural areas, most of the land has been divided up, but without mechanisms to make it productive. Seeds, chemical fertilizers, irrigation water, a market and protection for domestic production are all lacking. Privatization cannot be an end in itself, but an instrument for improving well-being. When it is carried out without the state, without rules and without control, it becomes a source of injustice and inequality. In the cities, the closure of enterprises without alternatives has thrown thousands of people out into the street. These consequences cannot be hidden by statistics or optimistic speeches. People are asking for work, security, order and justice. This is the real test of whether the reform has succeeded or failed. General privatization, proclaimed as a universal solution, has only been enough for the first political harvests. After that, the deep shortcomings have become apparent: the lack of market, legality, honesty and security. Without these, any privatization remains incomplete and insecure.
